If Barrett can catch strike 3 back in the third this is a different game.

But that happens. You have to be a teammate and pick them up when they make a mistake and try not to let it be a bigger one.

I agree, but it did change his performance. That and it seems the pitchers have to pick up Barrett quite a bit.

yea, your right, hes a bum and the reason we stink this year, lets starta smear campaign and trade him

Yep, because that is what I said.

you did?? huh..I thought I was just trying to "Cub think"

No, I like Barrett. He is a great hitter who gets that you can increase your value by walking. I just think he is a hack behind the dish. I wish the cubs would think creatively with him.

like find a REAL catching coach?

Dude, wouldn't he get bored being the only "real" coach on the staff?

The problem with that is it would likely involve inserting Henry Blanco into the lineup.

Holy crap that was a shot.

Yeah, unless we went out and got a decent receiver who could hit a little bit. I wouldn't mind having Miller back. Or hell, even giving Soto a shot.

ARAM... Just sit there and admire it when u hit it that hard

He was showing up Bush.

I have a feeling he'll be getting plunked later in the season or next year.

I thought he was waiting for it to go foul...

shouldnt bush be tossed by now? werent warnings issued?

That recent HBP was unintentional, imo.

Z put him up to it.

This ump's zone is a little crazy tonight..I'm not saying it has hurt the Cubs tonight, in fact, I think they have been the benefit of it...but normally I can tell by now what is a strike and what isn't. Tonight I have no idea-several pitches to me that have appeared right down the middle have been called balls on both sides.

Dusty would have a stroke if he had to do that.

All the more reason to do it. I refuse to acknowledge that the franchise could be dumb enough to bring Dusty back.

I'm alll for Barrett as a DH, alas until the NL converts I'd rather have him behind the plate until Soto can hit like he can...

I didnt think that mattered anymore once warnings were issued....

It still matters. In Barrett's case, it seemed like he almost turned into it and the pitch looked more like a mistake than anything else. If it were a bit more borderline, then I think Bush would have been tossed.

It is the Cubs after all. 100 years of failure can't be done just by accident.
