Camp opens today!!! Let's post any news in this thread!

Heading down there this weekend. I'll try to post some kind of summary.

is camp still in BEARBounaiss?

I used to listed to the Score guys when they were down there, but I don't think any athletes give them the time of day anymore.

I don't want to hear anything about "try."

I've never been to training camp, but a co-worker and I are thinking about going. If we do, I'll be sure to post about it.

ESPN Radio 1000 is reporting that Adrian Peterson has taken all second team reps in practice today, and that Jones has not practiced. No explanation yet. I will post again if I hear one.

EDIT:

Jones strained a hamstring during a team physical and has been placed on the "physically unable to perform list". If he does not come off the list by opening day, he must miss a minimum six weeks.

All of the above per ESPN Radio 1000 here in Chicago.

Please don't be 2002 all over again.

while I don't want yet another injury riddled season for yet another one of my teams, this could be a blessing in disguise.

positional controversies in training camp tend to tear teams apart . this goes along way to eliminating said controversy which was already starting to bubble over.

Good point. If he misses time I will be sad because I'll miss his enourmous arms.

As long as Benson is able to step up an do a good job filling the RB spot, you might be right. If he gets hurt, or he's struggling then this team could be in real trouble offensively.

all the evidence you need that Congress' focus on roids in baseball is incredibly short sited. great, the NFL has had a policy in place for years. just look how successful it is.

Thomas Jones is making noise down in Tampa Bay. One story told to the Orlando Sentinel was of two Buccaneers front-office types, already impressed with the physiques of former Cardinals Simeon Rice and Michael Pittman, being blown away by Jones’ huge biceps. They asked Jones what it was those players had been doing in Arizona.

Jones simply said, “We lift and we lose.”

670 The Score is now reporting he will miss around 6 weeks

Six weeks from today, or six weeks of the season?

A banged up Jones doesn't bother me, unless of course this is an attempt to hold-out without holding out. I wanted Benson starting anyway, in case he really is a franchise type back. Because I think TJ is just second tier. As long as he's back in time to contribute in the regular season, I don't care about this. I would be more concerned if somebody I projected as a starter missed time.

I'm not sure, re-the six weeks. Heard it in the background.

I agree. I think that Benson was going to start in any event.

I heard the same thing and I think the 6 weeks Chocolate heard was referring to the 6 weeks that the Bears have to make a decision about Jones because he's been placed on the PUP list. I really don't know specifics about how the list works but the Bears maybe have 6 weeks to to decide to put him on IR or activate him to the active 53 man roster.

TJ was just interviewed on The Score and said it was just a tweak, "No big deal being held out of practice".

Day to day.
