It was actually very nice. I knew it looked nice on TV, but I was thinking that a 40 year old stadium would be a little more junkie. The only problem I had with it was its location. It took me 2 hours to get there -- I honestly don't know how people in LA can just drive everywhere! The fans were great, but there were about 10,000 empty seats. It was a division game (Padres) and both are in the race, but I think that might be because it's just such a pain to drive out to the game on a Monday night.

Also, the OBPs of the Dodgers just made me jealous. They simply have guys who can get on base. I mean, who are these guys? They were just unbelieveable. Ethier hit 2 homers!

Also, it really, really made me miss Nomar.

Edit, raisin is right, it's like 44 years old. I can't do math

Dodger Stadium isn't that old...it's not even 50 years old.

And I love the location...just northeast of downtown so it's close to a bunch of freeways (2, 5, 101, 110) and it's only 15 minutes away for me. :) The problem is, you're coming from Malibu...limited freeway access.

Ethier is awesome, would love to see the Cubs get him somehow in a Maddux trade. Give them one of the relievers.

I love dodger stadium, especially the location. I love the way it sits in Chavez Revine. Beautiful piece of architecture. not a bad seat in the house, but your right about their fan base, sometimes they are completely oblivioous unless its "cool" to be there...

Really? Aren't some those seats in the upper deck rather high up?

I've never been there, so my impression is strictly based on eatching games on TV.

Don't they make you enter at certain gates (based upon where you are sitting) and limit your movement around? A buddy was telling me he couldn't even visit a friend sitting two decks up from his box seats.

They do make you enter at certain games, but you can still move up. You just gotta know how to do it and when to do it. It's really easy on non-weekend games.

And I didn't realize we had a Royals fan, but welcome aboard, ResidentRoyalsFan!

The nosebleeds aren't fun, but c'mon...they're $8. I've only been there once about 15 years ago, so I don't remember them too clearly.
