Daytona is down 3-0 after 2 and is now in the middle of a rain delay.

In Mesa, it's scoreless after 3. Former third baseman Brandon Taylor made his pro debut as a pitcher and threw 2 shutout innings. Robert Hernandez has followed with a shutout inning.

Mesa now up 1-0 in the bottom of the 5th on an error, 2 stolen bases and an RBI sac fly by Carlos Perez. Mesa is being no-hit. Fisher, the opposing pitcher hasn't given up a hit through 4 and has 9 Ks.

Drew Rundle is leading off and 0 for 2 with 2 Ks. Robert Hernandez with 3 shutout innings with 3 Ks and 1 BB.

To the 9th we go, Mesa is still being no-hit...but winning 1-0.

Mesa batters have struck out 15 times, Rundle has struck out all 3 times he's come up.

Daytona is still in a rain delay. I'm telling you, the Cubs should move their A+ team to the California League. :D

Mesa wins after being no-hit! Kopach struck out 2 and walked 1 in the 9th...Taylor, Hernandez, Platt, and Kopach combined for a 4-hit shutout. Only 3 BB's between the four of them as well compared to 5 K's.

Burke singles on a good slider with two away in the fifth to break up the perfect game. Wells so far: 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K, 52-33

At 8:34, the heat index in Des Moines is 108! It's 92 degrees with an impressive dew point of 79.

Great game for Wells. He leaves with one out in the 7th and two runners on. He was losing steam and finished with 91 pitches.

Ugh. Walrond comes in and both runners come in to score (RBI single to right, throwing error on Deardorff trying to gun the runner out at home).

Wells' final line: 6.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 6 K, 91-61, 6-7 GO-FO

After Randy's disappointing AAA debut (3.2 IP, 7 ER), he's posted this: 4 GS (and one 5-inning long relief appearance), 31 IP, 1.74 ERA, 25 K, 6 BB, 1 HR

The Jaxx are currently being one-hit. Shaver gave up 4 earned in 5 IP, raising his ERA to 2.51.

That's amazing... the opposition basically pitched a perfect game, and Mesa still wins. Don't know if I've ever seen that before. Even Harvey Haddix ended up giving up a hit and a walk after pitching a 12 inning perfect game.

Pina just ejected from the game for his second HBP. Greg Halman, the guy who was hit (who had hit 2 HRs against Pina already), walks towards the mound with his bat in a "menacing manner" and the benches clear. No punches or anything as the coaches from both teams break things up. There had been no warnings in the game.

Pina's final line: 4+ IP, 7 ER, 6 H, 0/3, 2 HBP, 3 HR
