I'd say Dunn has a decent shot at the all-time K record. He's productive enough where he should be in lineups for a long time, and to this point in his career he has been very healthy.

With 2 more strikeouts today, Dunn now has 146 on the year and is now on pace for 191. A little behind the record pace but I will not lose faith in him.

Dunn strikes out 3 times against the Marlins today and is now at 190 for the season. The record is 195 and Dunn has 4 games to go. Here is his schedule:

at Florida with Nolasco starting

at Pittsburgh x3 with Zach Duke, Paul Maholm, and Ian Snell

Here's hoping he can do it.

Adam Dunn made a valiant effort (76 K's in August/September/October) but with 194 K's, he fell just one strikeout short of his own record. Dunn now owns the top 2 season with K's for a hitter. I have no doubt that someday Dunn will crack 200.

And I love him for it.

remember late '04 when Mark Prior was looking like he was back in stud form and he had an awesome september. I believe his last start of the year, where he struck out 18 batters, including Dunn a couple of times to break the record.

I remeber listening to the game on the radio and being excited because for most of the game he was on pace for 20. Typical Cubs (especially late Sept. 04) they only scored 1 run, and prior only gave up 1 through 9 and they lost in extras.

sigh, sorry for the tangent but it's nice to remember when Prior was awesome.

IIRC, the Cubs lost that game in extra innings, right?
