Is it my imagination, or has Ryu slid a bit since he was called up and sent back down? It seems to me his ERA and WHIP are on the rise. (hopefully it's just my imagination)

No, it isn't your imagination. Though it isn't by too much, he has been inconsistent since returning to Des Moines the second time.

Thanks. I haven't been following the I-Cubs quite as closely this year as I normally do.

I saw him pitch in Iowa a week or so ago and his velocity was way down (seemed like 83-88 range for the Fastball). He didn't touch above 88 on any of the pitches that I saw. It may have been possible that the gun was slow.

milb.com has Ryu starting and pitching .1 of an inning with no rain delay. Looks like he's hurt?

# Pitcher Change: Jerome Williams replaces Jae Kuk Ryu, batting 9th.

# Injury Delay.

# Iowa Cubs pitcher Jae Kuk Ryu left the game due to an injured foot/ankle.

Catcher Rick Asoordian has struck out 4 Jaxx in the 12th and 13th. Negron is on at 2nd, it's up to pitcher Carlos Vasquez to try and knock him in in the 13th.

That's right, an everyday hitter is pitching to a relief pitcher. Dang, the catcher gets the best of that AB. Asoordian Ks Vasquez for his 5th strikeout.

6-6 after 13.

Thanks Ron:

Jackson, TN (July 5th)- The Chattanooga Lookouts pushed across two runs in the top of the fourteenth inning to defeat the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx 8-6 in fourteen innings. The extra inning affair took four hours and forty-eight minutes to play, the longest game played by both teams this season. The win pushes the Lookouts record in extra innings to a perfect 10-0 while the Diamond Jaxx record in extra frames falls to 7-3 on the season.

Rick Asadoorian (1-0), who started the game in right field for the Lookouts, pitched two scoreless innings of relief to pick up his first win of the season. It was his first time pitching this season. Jim Abbott pitched a perfect fourteenth inning to record his first save of the season.

Aaron Herr and Noochie Varner had back to back RBI singles to put the Lookouts in front 8-6 in the fourteenth inning. Herr's home run in the seventh inning off Ed Campusano tied the game at six. Herr finished 4-7 with two RBI's.

Carlos Vasquez (1-2) surrendered the runs to take the loss. The Diamond Jaxx scored all six of their runs in the third inning. Brandon Sing hit a grand slam to cap off the six run third.

Game three of the five game series takes place on Thursday night at 7:05 CDT. Left-hander Chris Shaver (4-5 2.17) gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. Chattanooga will counter with righty Carlos Alvarado (4-0 1.34).
