I am a long time lurker of this board, first time poster.

Being a Cub fan, I had often heard my fellow fans remark about Sox fans that the Sox fans cared as much as or maybe even more about the Cubs losing as the Sox winning. I never really found that to be true in the few good friends I had who were Sox fans but you always run into the occasional a-hole at a bar or a party that wants to talk trash just because you are wearing a Cub hat. I still never put the entire fanbase into one category because of a few idiots because we have all been to Wrigley Field over the past few years and seen it turn into a desination for many "fans" over a place to actually watch a baseball game. The entire whole of Cub nation isn't perfect. There are bad fans on every side of the aisle. It is only when you have such a strong dislike or even hate for one side that solely focus on those negatives.

That all being said, CBB represents everything he hates in the White Sox fanbase and is a hypocrite. Maybe more Cub fans are drifiting in the direction of putting the enjoyment of a Sox lose as with a Cubs win as the Sox continue to win and the Cubs continue to let us down. Recently I was out with my one of my Sox friends and someone remarked to him if he was enjoying 2nd place. I mean, I am Cub fan till I die but I am not stupid enough to talk trash to a team that is defending a World Series title and in position to return to the playoffs when my favorite team is playing like a little leauge ballclub. No matter how much pain and suffering some Cub fans wish upon the Sox they will still have a World Series title to fall back on to comfort them... and what do we have nothing? So whats the point?

Who cares about last year!!?? Last year is over. I deal with moronic White Sox fans every day. I despise them, and I wish their team ill. The anti-Cubs agenda is not only limited to the fans. It goes all the way to marketing (us vs. them ads), management (KW saying he doesn't want to be 2nd-fiddle to the Cubs), coaches (Ozzie saying "f the cubs"), and players (AJ saying he was rooting for the Tigers over the Cubs). I have friends who are White Sox fans. I cannot hold a baseball discussion w/ them w/o them saying "Cubs suck" Why should I root for the White Sox?? Their fans have never rooted for the Cubs. They don't want Cubs fans rooting for them. Fine. They are the ones who picked the fight. I used to never care about them. I started caring and hating them after I moved to New Trier and dealt w/ their fans online and in-person. W/ the Cubs out of it, I might as well root for the White Sox and Cardinals to lose.

"I sure as heck ain't rooting for the White Sox or Cardinals." - It's the only intelligent thing our manager has ever done or said.

TIGERS WIN!!! 6.5 GAME LEAD!!!

Why is Mabry in your "Dusty's Toys" sig?

Mabry sucks. He's played more than he should. Pagan is not really one of his toys, either, and he doesn't suck

Example please. And the White Sox game where he hit 2 homers does not count.

Plus Baker called Pagan a "horse." That is a definite welcoming to "Dusty's Toys."

He doesn't suck majorily like Neifi, Glendon, and Mabry. Plus. he's not an unproductive veteren. And when I requested the sig on another board, I had forgotton about him, as he was on the DL

But since they were against the White Sox, they are extraextraextraextraextraextra important.

I don't think anyone expects you to "root" for the Sox. From what I read, I think they are commenting on your overall obsession with the White Sox.

Is Kenny Williams saying he doesn't want to play "second fiddle to the Cubs" that off putting? I'd hope my GM would feel that way. He wants a winner and doesn't want to be second in anything.

Honestly, how many Sox fans do you really encounter in the northern suburbs?

Online? What sites are you visiting where you deal with this? WSI? Cubs.com? What else would you expect?

New Trier is more White Sox fans than Cubs fans. When I pass by White Sox fans, they start going, "WHITE SOOOOOX!!" They do it to others too. They are rude, dumb, and obnoxious people. I hate their fans so much, I want to punch them in the face. Go ahead, I know you're going to say, I wouldn't make a trade w/ them unless they were getting fleeced. I don't care. This thread was meant for people who want to see the White Sox lose. Not a thread where I could spew my anti-White Sox venom.

I don't think anyone expects you too "root" for the Sox. From what I read, I think they are commenting on your overall obsession with the White Sox.

So because they say their team's name, you want to punch them in the face?

They very well may be doing it solely because they know it irritates you. It might have absolutely nothing to do with team allegiance.

They do it to others, and they where White Sox hats and shirts. Not just World Series stuff either. And it doesn't piss me off, b/c I still wear my Cubs stuff

Say it ain't so.

Somehow, I see much truth in this statement.

This thread was meant for people who want to see the White Sox lose. Not a thread where I could spew my anti-White Sox venom.

Let's let it sink in.

And that last sentence in what I quoted makes zero sense given what we've seen time and time again when someone seemingly dares to even think of mentioning the White Sox on this board.

And having Mabry in your sig, under the reasoning you gave us, is ridiculous. Career-wise, Mabry has been a very solid bench player. He only got additional playing time when Lee was injured...other than that, we've seen him about as much as you'd expect to see a pinch hitter or guy subbing for someone hurt/have a day off. Pagan is infinitely more deserving to be up there with the time he's robbed Murton of thus far, thought neither he nor Mabry are even close to Neifi/Rusch-esque levels.

B/c they are rude, dumb obnoixus people, just like all those broadcasters who need to be punched.

So THEY'RE obnoxious because they wear Sox hats and shirts, cheer their team and their announcers are grating...yet you see nothing wrong with wanting to "punch them in the face" for wearing their team's hats and shirts, cheering them on and having grating announcers?
