Someone seems upset about the sox

It's a long season, I'm only worried about the timing of the slump. It kinda forces Williams to do something, otherwise he'll face a ton of heat in the press. The last thing I want is to give up a good prospect just to get middle relief. I would prefer they try to pry Humber and Heilman away from the Mets and build a little depth with the minor league system.

I disagree, if the Tiggers die a horrible death it could become entertaining.

What do those who rooted against the White Sox because of their fairweather attendance think of Detroit?

The White Sox have finished under .500 exactly zero times in a year beginning with "200". The Tigers haven't even remotely contended in quite some time. Not to say that the fairweather attendance isn't annoying, but there are some degrees to look at there.

Also the Sox fans started showing up in what, september? The tigers fans started showing up in May. One was waiting for something to cheer for, the other was waiting for a winner to cheer for.

actually, I believe walk-up tickets were available to the division series games with the RedSox. they didn't have an advanced sell out until the ALCS...unless of course you include drunk Tuesdays or whatever they called it.

I also don't think anyone rooted against the White Sox solely because of their attendance. the fairweatherness of their fans added to the contempt for their fans, not the contempt for the ballclub. but I suppose I do see the relation because my contempt for the White Sox is solely completely attributable to their fairweather, obnoxious fans.

for instance, stop crying about Cub fans backing the Tigers, Twins and Indians when it's an indisputedable fact that many Sox fans have been huge Astro and Cardinal fans over the years.

just heard on the cubs broadcast

"the tigers could lose every game for the rest of the season and be 21 games better than they were in 2002"

I'm a fan of the old time way of solving beanings. Pitcher from Team A beans player from Team B. If Team B deems it intentional, pitcher from Team B beans player from Team A. That ends it. No brawl. No suspensions. No return beanings by Team A. A HBP for a HBP.

Well if one HBP results in injury and losing the player for an extended time, while the other doesn't, that's not fair.

I'm just talking about your general beaning in the back. Don't throw at the head. Just throw it at the middle of their back - a spot that rarely results in a serious injury. If the player sticks his elbow in the way or doesn't turn, that's his fault.

I don't care.

And Marlins and Braves fans when the Cubs made the playoffs.

Excuse me? I don't know where you're from, but the majority of Sox fans I know personally care much more about the Sox even during losing campaigns than they do about the Cubs. I know there are exceptions (see: WSI), but that's as farfetched as me saying absolutely everyone on this board is the same as CBB and/or goes to games to party.

exactly where did I say all Sox fans act this way? where? I mean if I did, I'll admit my mistake, but I don't think you will find I did say anything of the sort. your dispute with what I said is done with conviction, but your dispute makes nothing I said less true. try replying to what I said instead of re-packaging it and replying to what you wanted me to say in order to scoff at it.

you personal experiences mean nothing to me, when I have seen plenty of the phenomena of which I speak. apparently you didn't listen to alot of sports talk radio in October 2003. 'greatest moment in all my years of watching baseball' from caller after caller. or the revelry of Sox fans on the same venues in September 2004. nor did you hang around alot of message boards. the Cubs board at ESPN was infested with "Astros" fans from Chicagoland before I left for this board.

the mods really should do something about your screen name. isn't that false advertising?

I disputed your personal experience with some of mine. There's really no point in arguing personal experience...unless...

So as a way of arguing your point you cite sports talk radio and ESPN boards. Seriously? I couldn't think of a worse representation of any fanbase than talk radio. And then ESPN boards? My God, of course there were idiots posting there. IT'S THE ESPN BOARD.

Yes, there are idiots who like the White Sox who love OzzieBall and GrinderBall and pretty much any made up cliche hocus pocus that could explain 4 starters and an entire bullpen playing so far above their collective heads it was ridiculous. There are also idiots who hate the Cubs and Wrigley and make a point of letting people know.

I think many people, such as I, take issue with the fact that CBB acts EXACTLY like the White Sox fans he describes with so much anger.

the mods really should do something about your screen name. isn't that false advertising?

Sweet add on, totally necessary personal attack.

BTW - Can the title be changed to "The Offical GO TIGERS/TWINS/YANKEES/RED SOX!! Thread"??

It should be.

I don't care.

Of course not. Becuase my posts didn't mention either the White Sox or the Tigers in any way which seems to be the only thing you care about.

No Soccer, is favorite AL team is the Red Sox, except when any of their competitors are facing the White Sox or any team who could possibly positively or negatively affect the Sox.

You have that wrong. I like the Red Sox, but I root for division teams making problems for the White Sox (Tigers, Twins) over the Red Sox and I root for the Yankees over the White Sox.
