No score in the first.

Some people make those kinds of sacrifices...

Fontenot just hit his 4th HR of the year. Restovich also has an RBI double and Coats has an RBI single. I-Cubs up 3-1 in the 4th.

Daytona loses 9-4. Berg had a less than stellar outing as he allowed 9 hits, 7 runs (5 earned), 1 BB, and had 5 K's in 5 innings. Matt Weber came in for 3 innings of relief and gave up 3 hits and 2 runs, including a HR. Jake Fox hit his 14th homer of the year, a 2 run shot, in the 8th. Harvey went 1/4 with a double and an RBI. Sam Fuld had the only other Daytona hit, an RBI double. Only 3 hits tonight for Daytona :(

Peoria is up 3-1 in the 7th, Jaxx are down 3-1 in the 6th, Iowa is up 4-1 in the 6th.

Dylan Johnston was ejected from the Peoria game by the home plate ump. Happened after he was called out on strikes while pinch hitting.

Not to jinx him because his night might not be over, but Mitch Atkins has been something else this season (up there with Gallagher, Marmol, Mateo and Wells in terms of performance).

Today:

6 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 2/2.

On the season:

1.90 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, .187 BAA, 63 Ks, 24 BBs

His biggest asset is supposed to be his ability to change speeds and the good location he gets on his pitches, so I wonder how that will hold up against more savy hitters as he goes up the system (a question asked about Gallagher last season).

According to the box, Juan Mateo pitched 3 innings tonight (5 hits, 1R, 1ER, 1BB/1K, 1HR). Is this is his first start since being activated? I'm hoping it was a pitch count issue vs a not feeling well issue.

Atkins has been kicking some butt.

I'll be starting a new job in 10 days, so I'll finally be able to make it to Peoria more often.
