But the Pirates are gaining on us. They've won 7 of their last 8 games and are only ONE game behind us. Not to mention they just got Casey back. We could be last in the NL Central by Saturday.

The Cellar beckons. Do the Cubs answer?

Meh, 5th place or 6th place. What does it really matter. Either way we suck.

The Pirates probably are better then us at the moment. They've been playing good ball.

I wonder when was the last time that the Pirates finished ahead of the Cubs? I mean, if we have one goal this year, it should be to stay the hell above the Pirates. If we can't do that....geez.

The way this management team works, it will have to be an absolute embarassment of a year for any real change to happen. And 6th place, behind the Pirates, would be that embarassment. So, if this team is not going to challenge for a playoff spot, I would actually (gulp) prefer 6th place to 5th place.

The Pirates getting Casey back is good the Cubs. Craig Wilson > Casey.

see...this is all part of the plan you see...with them ahead of us we'll have the whole field where we can see them ya see...and that way we'll be in a much better position to keep track of everyone ya see...if we're in last place then when we win a game we'll gain on everyone ya see...it all makes sense.

Could Dusty be the first manager in history to get an extension right after his club hits the cellar?

What is Phil Nevin?

Is it really that a big deal if the Cubs are last? At the VERY best, this team is a 4th place team in the NL Central. 5th or 6th are interchangable in my book...in fact, I welcome 6th at this point. Just yet another colossal failure that McHendust can't hide behind...and a decent draft pick! GO PIRATES!!!
