I think this will be merged or locked soon. And I think this is a pretty typical Cubs move, mostly worthless 35 year old coming off a terrible season. But he's probably a man's man with a great attitude and lots of intangibles.

 

Maybe he can provide a little punch off the bench against LHP.

Wow...you guys are impossible to please.

 

I'm as frustrated as the next fan watching the Cubs this year, but we give up an absolute nobody (where we have a surplus) and get someone with some power from the right side to play first until Lee gets back and can come off the bench in late innings. If I'm not mistaken, Texas is picking up some of the tab, as well.

 

It by no means is a blockbuster, but the Cubs are a better team for having made this trade. Isn't that the goal of making trades?
