Anyone have any idea if the Drew Stubbs kid is any relation to Franklin Stubbs, the former LA Dodger?

And how about Evan Longoria, he a dropped "n" away from being the real hot chick on Desperate Housewives.

Ok. Someone tell me something good about

Chris Marrero 3B Florida (HS)

Is he as good a prospect as Rowell?

Are the Cubs done drafting high ceiling HS pitchers in the first round?

To summarize BA:

Marrero came into this season as the top HS hitting prospect and didn't live up to the expectations. He has average to plus tools, and his best tool is power (which rates as a 70 on the 20-to-80). He has "adequate plate discipline and good pitch recognition." Has struggled to make consistant hard contact but he remains high on draft boards due to projection and power. Might have to move to first base or left field.

It doesn't sound like he's as good as Rowell. BA seems to like him a lot less than MiLB. So yeah, uhh, he sounds like someone the Cubs would draft.

I say go after a pitcher since that's the obvious strength of this draft and a projected top-10 pitcher should fall to the Cubs.

Got this from Brewerfan.net:

Marrero is a perfectly proportioned athlete whose body resembles Alex Rodriguez'. While Marrero currently plays shortstop, a move to third base awaits him as he enters the professional ranks. He has nice, quick lateral actions, soft hands and a strong throwing arm that could make him a Gold Glove caliber defender at the hot corner. And while his natural athleticism gives him good potential defensively, Marrero is going to make his living with the bat. He has very good bat speed, and shows a very good eye at the plate. He makes consistent hard contact, and drives the ball to all parts of the field. His advanced, disciplined approach could allow him to move quickly, as he has the potential to hit for both average and power. He also has pretty good speed given his size, although he could slow down as he continues to fill out his frame. He was an Aflac All-American, and has committed to play for the University of Miami.

Sounds like BA is really down on him compared to the rest.

That "consistent, hard contact" part is what they take the most issue with. Apparently his plate discipline and pure hitting ability leave something to be desired.
