Manager Dusty Baker recently spoke of Ramirez as a supporting player to Lee, comparing him to Scottie Pippen on the Michael Jordan-led Bulls.

But Ramirez isn't being paid $10.5 million to be a "great supporting actor," in Baker's words. He said Tuesday he was unaware of Baker's comment and that being a No. 1 guy isn't really that important to him.

I'd love to see Ramirez come out and say, "Dusty ain't getting paid 5 million to be an awful manager."

Ramirez has been less than stellar, though.

he has been but he has been nowhere near as bad as Pierre has been

And, unlike Pierre, he's starting to finally get back on track. Pierre's doesn't seem like he'd know what the track was until he got hit by a train.

if baker is going to take shots at 1 player, he should then take shots at others. if you are only going to rip on a player whos actually starting to turn things around, it will just turn out really bad.

I don't see where the "shot" at Ramirez is.

He compares him to one of the best "supporting players" of all time.

That line "...in Baker's words" seems to me like irresponsible journalism. Nothing new coming from Paul Sullivan. He's referring to Baker's words, "great supporting actor," while making it seem to the reader like Baker is the one who said that Ramirez isn't being paid $10.5 mil for such a role.

I see no such evidence in the article that Dusty was the one saying it. It's Sullivan's point, not Dusty's.

Now, if there's an actual quote from Dusty where he says that, I retract what I just said (except that Sullivan sucks).

More crap journalism from who else? Paul Sullivan.

Baker wouldn't even stand up for Barrett. He may have thought Barrett was wrong (or really didn't see the play), but he should had stood behind Barrett. Seeing that, I am not surprise to see him take a shot at ARam, even tho Dustbrain needs to take a shot at the WHOLE team.

I agree completely. It's obviously just another piece of garbage by Sullivan, go figure.

BTW, I just spent a solid 2-3 minutes just watching your sig over and over...

Sullivan at his best. He's just trying to stir things up. It's obvious that Baker called Aram a great supporting player, and Sullivan made it seem like Baker said he wasn't getting paid to be that supporting player. It amazes me that Sullivan still has a job. He really is a worthless pile of poop.

Wow the Dusty lynch mob has arrived I think he actually gave Ramirez some credit and didn't throw him under a bus. He's a supporting actor that is getting paid too much in Sullys words not Bakers.
