Well the first day is over and the Quakers hold a slim lead. That lead will probably not last long as NSBB has two starts tonight to none for me. Hate to say it, but it looks like a Quaker victory may depend on Kerry Wood having a terrible week.

On a side note it looks like I may have made a mistake in not starting two start pitcher Rickey Nolasco this week. My thoughts were that it was too risky, but I should have followed my own advice and if someone is starting against the Cubs .....

Well.. I was going to finally use one of my minor league guys for 2 starts this week (Penn) but he had emergency surgery. So, I've picked up a shitbag to take his 2 starts this week. My team sucks.

Well, my team is 0-7, but is my team really "that" bad? My opponents have scored more than 2100 points against me. That's more than 100 points more than opponents have scored against any other team.

6 teams have scored less points at this point in the season.

A little bit unlucky, I'd say. Not saying I have a good team. Just that they aren't necessarily as bad as the record shows. The Cubs, on the other hand, are much worse than their record shows.

Seems like one rookie manager is destined for a terrible start each year. Last year was my first in the league, and I started 0-13.

Well as predicted, the Quakers have fallen behind Northside. Halladay was too much. But at least Wood's performance kept me in the running. Of course I would have done better, but for Cordero. Why do some pitchers excel at setting up, but as soon as they have a save possibility they implode???

So Fuzzy Logistics got hot out of the gates this week for what looked like it would be a sure win, which would be the first of the season. They still lead every team in points this week, but Alamo is now 2nd in points and closing in on me.

I'm starting to feel like Jim Hendry. Everyone is gunning for the downtrodden.

I still think that there should be a rule that says Albert has to be benched if the opposing team has only 5 starts :D

I was looking at the top fantasy batters and Albert is about 60 points ahead of the next best player.

HUGE game for Crawford today. 5 for 5, a home run, 2 RBIs, 5 runs scored, 4 stolen bases, 19 fantasy points. At this moment I'm 1.3 points behind Fuzzy Logistics for highest score of the week. It will come down some after deductions for total bases allowed by Maddux, however.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Crawford today!

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Crawford today!

I am. :D

I'd be even more a fan of his if he were a Cub. At least until Dusty and Clines do what they do best and ruin him.

Yeah, Crawford put a damper on my day, but my bats are starting to heat up. I have 4 HR already, I think I had 2 all week last week.

If Giambi and VMart would get back on track I'd be in good shape! Should be a tight game, though.

Bonderman had his share of deductions as well. But, he got me a win.

Good starts for me this week. Bonderman and Verlander against the Royals and Hudson against the Cubs.

Too bad I traded Smoltz on Sunday. He already kicked the Padres butt on Monday, and then he would have been facing the Cubs this week as well. I'd be over 200 points right now with starts from Verlander, Hudson, Smoltz and Moyer still to come. Madson threw 7 relief innings in one game the other day, so I really messed up that one.

I may be losing my advantage in starts. Halladay has been pushed back to Monday and Wood may or may not make his start on Sunday.

Looks like Quakers and I might be facing each other straight up with five starts apiece.

raw, did you ever pick a bad time to grab elmer dessens.

Good God.. that has to be the most points a relief pitcher has lost in a week, and it's only Thursday!

I can't wait to get Prior, Bannister, and Colon back. I haven't scored [expletive] for points with my 2 start a week pitcher strategy. A rotation of Prior, Colon, Bannister, Suppan, Young, Wang, and Marquis/John Thompson is looking better for me. My pitching and Daniel Johnson/Cliff Floyd/ARAM have been the death of me so far this season. I do like my minor leaguers though and am excited about my future teams!
