Glendon should totally bean Konerko.

Glendon + Dusty being suspended = best thing that could happen to Cubs.

I don't think it would matter that much. Even if we go on a winning streak while Dusty's gone, the team will just chalk it up to luck, Dusty will come back, and the team will continue to lose.

5 runs will not be enough to win the game today. Don't worry about it yet, Cubs fans.

GO CUBS!

Please explain why you think that the Cobs will score 5 runs against a pretty good pitcher, especially since they cant hit lefties if their lives depended on it.

Team speed. With guys like Pierre and Hairston at the top of the order, we can score runs faster than you can blink an eye.

GO CUBS!

Please tell me you're joking...

Plus the speed of Cedeno and Perez at the bottom of the lineup.

Mark my words, small ball will win this game.

GO CUBS!

So, what happened to all those runs that great speed was going to score us?

This team is a frick'n joke.

Chicago Cubs!

Whats the joke?

Huh?

Well, thats the punchline, whats the joke?

The game isn't over yet, Captain Smartypants.

This team, unlike the 2004 version, can manufacture runs at will because they do not have to rely on the long ball. I predict three runs in the eighth and four in the ninth via bunts, hit-and-runs, steals, and other such shenanigans.

Here's a good question; which team has more, the White Sox with overachievers, or the Cubs with underachievers?

Who is an underachiever on the Cubs? Ramirez, I guess? This team just flat sucks. They've not underachieving. They're just bad. "Underachieving" connotes that they should be playing better. They shouldn't.

Ramirez, Walker (power wise), Pierre, Z (until his last few starts), Rusch (he shouldn't be quite THIS bad), Neifi and Blanco (apparently they wanted to get worse), Ohman (shouldn't be this bad).

Conversely, the White Sox have virtually every position player playing above their career numbers (and most all are past their prime).

I'm not trying to make the argument the Cubs should be blowing teams away. However one can't ignore these two teams' players are operating at opposite ends of the spectrum. To this fan its quite sickening.

I guess we should feel lucky that Dusty gets the most out of his players.

Pathetic. They're going to let Buehrle throw a complete game, when everyone knows that the one weakness the White Sox have is their bullpen. The problem isn't just that they're bad hitters. They're bad AND stupid. Since Hendry apparently likes to try and copy the White Sox, I hope he's taking notes today and realizes that major league teams have good offenses when they have players with the ability to have patience, wait for their pitch, and sometimes hit it over the outfielder's head.

Oh yes... and that has gone really far this year. Especially since we're last in nearly offensive category for the NL. I wish we relied on the home run. At least we would score something.

I've got to leave the office now, but all of you negative nabobs can line up to apologize to me when the Cubs go on to win this game.

exactly the reason why his continued employment is 100% unjustifiable. for three years now the teams has performed worse than it should, even taking the injuries into account.

the guy had two assets when he came to the Cubs. attracting free agents and keeping his team motivated. he has done neither the past three years.

And likely the fasted PBP has to post 2 outs in 1 post. Pathetic.

Why is anybody surprise that the Cubs have performed this badly against the White Sox? In the last 2 to 3 weeks, the ONLY team the Cubs could "beat up on" was the Washington Nationals, the only team that would be WORSE then the Cubs offensively.

The lack of baseball IQ is astounding, (I guess IQ to the Cubs means, "I quit.")
