How good can Scott Moore be? Does he have a chance at a major league job in the future?

Dudes doing pretty good since repeating the A level last year and is putting up better numbers so far this year in AA. Still age appropriate for AA. I dont see why he's not a legitamate prospect, especially as a thirdbaseman. I think hes more a potential big leaguer than Dopirak.

.298/365/.546/.911 and sprinkle in 6 SB's whats not to like.

I think he has a chance to be solid, but not spectacular. His problem last year was that he racked up an obscene number of errors at 3B. He seems to have cut down on that this season, although it still is rather early. He also seems like he needs to work on his command of the strike zone since he's racked up 43 Ks on the season.

Still, he's shown plenty of promise. He doesn't have the same ceiling as guys like Pie, Dopirak, or Harvey, but he definitely could be a good everyday guy at 3B if he improves and adjusts accordingly.

The defense is still a concern, but his primary weakness is related to strike zone recognition/pitch selection.

What kind of defense reports have you guys gotten? I've gotten a couple suggesting that he's looked really bad this year, that he's got no range defensively, plus has the errors problems even on the balls he does hande.

His K problem is obviously horrible. Still, despite all that, he's hitting near .300 and posting a .900+ OPS at the moment, at age 22. That's pretty favorable. Still, his BABIP was in the .380's last time I checked, so that looks suspicious. His walk rate isn't too hot this year either. Maybe he's figuring something out, but poor-D K-aholic prospects don't have a good track record in my experience.

My understanding has been that his defense is good enough for him to stick at third when he comes up to the majors. His problems apparently are ones that can be corrected given proper coaching and time.

His last error was on May 7th and it was his 6th of the season. Given there are about 130 games in the minor league season (playoffs included) and West Tenn has played 39 of them (30%), that puts Moore on track for about 20 errors total on the season, assuming he follows the expected path.

We'll see what happens. He needs another year in the minors anyways to work on his command of the strike zone.

I saw his last error in Mississippi. He made a play on a ball that took him into foul territory. He should have held on to it and allowed the infield hit, yet he tried to make a throw and hit the top of the first base dugout with his throw.

That one was more a poor decision than anything else.
