Decent inning from Hill. Giles is just a damn good hitter.

Yea his OPS isn't so great, and his slugging has tailed off remarkably this year. He still is an OBP machine, but the sudden major drop off in SLG% makes me think he might have been on something.

23 of their first 37 have been at home, where no left handers do any good slugging wise. Also, of their 14 road games, 9 were in the 1st/2nd week of the season.

Just because someone is struggling to hit homers doesn't automatically mean they were on something.

He played there last year and still slugged .470 or so. He's at .350 this year. That's quite a remarkable drop. I'm not saying he did or he didn't...

Still a .545 SLG (1.008 OPS) outside of Petco last season.

And does every hitter who's not hitting as well as he should be need to be linked with steroid use?

watch hill pitch a gem and the cubs still lose.

:x

He'll have to do better with walks. Two in two innings is not a gem by any means. It's tempting fate.

MUCH better inning from Hill. That was perfect. Got ahead of every hitter.

That's one of the first promising innings I've seen from Hill.
