His season reminds me of the year Johnny Damon was on the A's - he couldn't hit the ball out of the infield. Damon of course rebounded nicely. Unfortunately, Pierre wasn't good last year either so I wouldn't hold out any hope.

Damon is also a different style hitter. He has some power and a lot more patience (relatively speaking) than Pierre.

 

Hendry somehow missed that for much of the second half last year, Pierre got demoted to hitting 8th.

As much of a weak hitter as he was before the last year, he was able to turn on pitches, now everything is headed to CF or LF. Right now, he's Perez w/less power. Neifi has a similar style from the L side.

He really wasn't that year. He slapped at the ball a ton.

pierre must have read your post. he's hit two balls slightly below moderately hard to the outfield tonight.

 

he almost got that last one to the warning track. he may be coming around a little. truth is the pitching has been pretty bad during the losing streak too. this is a bad team.
