honestly, seeing that [expletive] try to sac bunt three innings in a row and have it produce exactly zero runs almost gives me as much joy as it does pain.

if the bus back to the hotel ran into a billboard that said 'sac bunts are stupid,' the omen wouldn't be any clearer than it was tonight. high comedy.

right now I am cheering more for the Mavs than the Cubs. Maybe should they win it all Cuban will say what the hell and try something new. It helps that they are showing so few games on TV lately.

that's baseball right there adam. you just bunt there because you are supposed to. it doesn't matter if you're freddie bynum or todd walker, you just bunt and try to push across that run because you are struggling. it's like fishing, you keep throwing that line out there because eventually you'll catch something...

To take advantage of bunting and moving the runner over, a team typically has to be good at preventing outs (since you're already using one) and good at getting the runner in. Despite that unusual hot start w/RISP, the Cubs were still a poor situational hitting team and getting the runner over w/out being able to drive him in does nothing.

This is funny stuff. Not because it isn't correct, but because its so ridiculously simple. How do baseball "experts" not understand this? Maybe Dusty needs to have a chat with good old Joe.

Joe would also likely have Bynum leadoff before Murton. Isn't there a show on TLC that can have Dusty contact the spirit of Weaver?
