I think some of you guys have way too high of expectations for this current team. Losing our best hitter and most of our starting staff is rookies anything over .500 is great. We stand at 14-11 after today. That is not too bad.

We should be under .500 (even including the games in which DLee played) based on runs scored and runs allowed. We've gotten lucky a few times.

I don't have high expectations for this team. Hendry gave us a pretty good bullpen (Williamson, Howry, Eyre, and Dempster) in the offseason.

The bullpen is about the only positive for the team.

This team wouldn't score many runs if Lee were healthy.

People who have been diagnosed with clinical depression, and are on Wellbutrin (Like myself) should not be Cub fans..

The best part about Wellbutrin is that it has a low risk of sexual side effects - or so I hear

I hear it makes you limper than Juan Pierre's throwing arm.

Just kidding.

We've given up less than 7 runs 2 times in the last 6 games.

We've scored more than 2 runs 1 time in the last 6 games.

And yet we stand at 14-11. As I said it could be far worse!

We're 4-6 since Lee got hurt. We're not a good team without him. Sure we could be the Royals, but I don't see the problem with pointing out that we are pretty bad right now.

The Cubs have 22 hits and 4 runs in the last 4 games while being outscored 34 - 4. It's only a matter of time before the wheels fall off of this team.

It could be, and it will be if things don't change for the better really soon. The overall record is a nice distraction from the troubles that are hounding this team, but that doesn't mean those troubles don't exist.

I agree...Then there really is no need to expect anything either. I'm only hoping for .500 and hope to get guys healthy and see what happens.

Even with a healthy Lee (and when he comes back he wont be 100%) and Wood/Prior we are a bad team if the offense continues to be this bad. 4 runs in 4 games against the Brewers and Pirates people. 4!!!

In two weeks? Try 7 days.

I give them longer, because we have Maddux pitching, and I think that Zambrano will win his first.

Besides, 7 days falls within 2 weeks.

We might be sure but again once we get healthy we can make a run at it. Don't forget the Astro's where 15 games under in May without Berkman. They got some guys back and healthy (Berkman and Pettitte) and made a run at it.

Last time I checked, 7 days = 1 week.

7 days do fall within 14 days...

Reminds me of the Stephen Wright joke...

"I went to the store that was open 24 hours, and I saw the owner locking up. I asked him "Why are you lockin up, aren't you supposed to be open 24 hours?"

He looked at me and said "Not in a row""

Can you include the opponents pitchers? I know I ask everytime, but I really like to see the comparison after each posting. Can you just do it from now on?

At what point do you just stop caring. I feel like I care less and less when this offense and Dusty motivated philosophy of aggressiveness, particularly when we fall behind, rears its ugly head.

WOOO HOOO we got Jack Wilson and Dirty Sanchez out.
