Frankly, I don't really see Hendry making a trade at all. And I think that's a good thing. At this juncture, there's no impactful trade he could make without gutting the system, and so it's probably better not to do that. I think the team just has to play through this, hope for some guys to step up at least long enough so we're not in an obviously desperate trading position.

the problem is that with the team the cubs now have, they will struggle with the weak teams who you really need to beat the crap out of to win the division. at full strength, the cubs still will have a hard time being better than .500 against the good teams.

 

That's it. The Cubs should wipe the floor with teams like Pittsburg (sorry jake), Washington, and most of the NL West if they want to be there at the end. Any team with a really good offense will give them trouble (e.g., Cin) becuase they will have trouble scoring runs. And they will have trouble scoring runs on a consistent basis even when Lee comes back. They just hack away way too often.
