And it's Ryu starting. I was hoping to get to see Valdez for the first time. Oh, well. Another day.

Get to see Pinto, though! ( :( )

I posted this in the Exhibition thread, but will do it again here:

This was coming from the Des Moines paper (no link-but was printed in the actual newspaper, but not on line).

I am GUESSING Valdez goes Friday night, Walrond on Saturday, with Guz on Sunday.

If Guz pitches Sunday, he has off Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur, and would be scheduled to pitch on Friday. This could be moved back to Saturday if he is Chicago's pitcher on that day. Hill would be "scheduled" on that day if he pitches after Guz.

In the Tenn/Birmingham game I can tell you a little about the Birminham roster.

Ray Liotta is probably the best pitching prospect the sox have right now with the loss of the lefties to the Phillies. The stars of last years team are all gone too in Owens, Young, Sweeney, and Fields. Other noticable position players gone are Rowgowski and Stewart.

This season only position players worth a damn are the SS Robert Valido, 2B Chris Getz, and 3B Micah Schnurstein. Also OF Collaro has a bunch of power but cant hit for avg worth a damn.

Tommorow Laynce Broadway should also take the bump for Birmingam, he was the sox top draft pick last season.

Pie strikes out on curve outside that was foul tipped into the glove after a decent AB. There is a wide strike zone, though, with the replacement umpires (I think).

Ryu survived a single and a double in the first.

Gameday now tells you if a runner was going on a foul ball. Nice to see them continuing to improve it.

4 ER on 5 hits and a walk in 0.2 IP for Brownlie. That's not a good start to the season.
