Dusty means absolutely nothing demeaning, pejorative or condescending when he calls a guy "Young." That's reading way, way too much into things.

But why would a big league manager twice, not just once, preface a player in the lineup by saying "young"? I'm not trying to read into it, I'm just looking for an explanation I guess. I've never heard a manager do that before and I think it's kind of odd.

Well, he used to refer to Choi as "Big Choi."

Yesterday, he referred to Bynum as "Fast Freddie."

They're all friendly terms.

Point well taken. I forgot about the "Big Choi" nickname.

There are plenty of legitimate things to gripe on Dusty for. I'm not going to start parsing his every phrase.

Much as Ronnie annoys me, I still love him -- in a Cub-like way, of course. He usually doesn't know what inning it is, but I do appreciate his love for his team. Today, I had the misfortune of hearing Harrelson and Jackson call the Sox game. Every time I hear them, I get down on my knees and thank the Lord for Len and Bob, Pat and Ron. Heck, I even thought Chip Caray was a hall-of-famer compared to those two clowns in the Sox booth. You can put Harrelson on "mute" -- yes!!!
