The box score lists the save as going to Federico Baez. Never heard of him. Anyone?

he played for Puerto Rico I believe in the WBC. I think he pitched at AA and a little AAA last year

ramirez is on fiyah. he's going to have a huge year if he stays stretched.

i have a question though: do eyre and howry look as good as their era would suggest, or are they still giving up alot of hits? pecota didn't like them too much for this year.

What do people think about Maddog? he's having a nice spring......

Hopefully that personal trainer he hired in the offseason helped.

Ramirez vs Ricardo

1st pitch: ball (fastball, low)

2nd pitch: foul, grounder to thirdbase side

3rd pitch: swinging strike

Jones caught stealing- two out.

4th pitch: ball (breaking ball, low)

5th pitch: foul (backstop)

6th pitch: HR

6-1 Cubs

Aramabomb!

Way to run yourself out of a big inning......

Not necessarily. They probably pitched differently to Aramis knowing that no one was on base. If you're gonna try something fancy to get the last out with a potential risk for a HR, at least its only one run.

I think the stats at the Cubs website are updated.

that or they were trying out a hit and run (didn't watch it), or Dusty wanted to see Jacques ability to take bases. It's spring training.

Lee ran alot in front of aramis last year, it's not like he's not used to it.

If it works, no one says anything.

Sorry, I was sitting pretty far back from the action, so the pics aren't that great.

Aramis rounding the bases after his HR:

Marquis Grissom and Felix Pie between innings:

You guys weren't the only ones who didn't know that was Federico Baez - the Giants PA guy said, "your attention please, now pitching for the Cubs...number 57."

Maddux looked good. Hairston was awful in LF. He took a bad route on every fly ball there. Felix Pie made a spectacular catch on a fly ball late in the game.

The teenage girl sitting next to me was a Giants fan and apparently her family knew Neifi Perez. She said Neifi got them tickets to Giants games a few years ago. She was all excited when Neifi came up. I wasn't.
