Mueller,Cabrera,Nixon,Mienk. are all above avg. defensively. They were avg. to above avg. as a team.

Nixon isn't good, and he was a platoon guy anyway. Mueller barely gets by at third.

We were told every WS winner won with solid D, and Boston did not have solid D, or anything close to it. The difference between the Cubs with Walker on D and the Cubs without Walker on D isn't a trip to the WS or not. It's just a bogus cliche that defense wins championships in baseball. It's not true. Pitching wins. Defense is far down the line on contributions, well after offense.

Health is the #1 factor.

Stick a fork in Rich and post him to Iowa..........

by the way, it's a lot easier to say that certain minor leaguers won't make it (as you've so deftly pointed out, most don't). why don't you rattle me off some guys that you think will make it?

Not a problem. I see Sean Marshall as a bonafide major league starter. The other guys are still too young to judge. Of course Guzman is another but he needs to stay healthy for a year in the Minors.

I'm not ready to throw Rich under the bus he just needs more time to develop his control and further pitches to support the wicked curve.

what? you don't expect a guy to go from A ball to a dominant big league starter in less than a calender year?

abuck he isn't 20-21 He has a limit to how long he can be viewed as a legitimate prospect, Man your hot today as summer hit over there? take a chill pill man its only an opinion people are not going to execute the guy. Blackout in London Where's My Audio!!!!!

but that doesn't mean he can't be an effective pitcher. just b/c you can't consider him a prospect doesn't mean that his career is over at 26.

I don't think he saying his career is over at 26, but you would think it would begin at 26.

Hey I haven't given up on him but he needs to work on some things and quite frankly due to our current situation he isn't any help whatsoever to the big league club and that is what we need Help!!!

Who would you guys call up between Hill, Marshall and Guzman if need be? Very tough choice. BTW- Mid 3rd score is tied 5-5
