That call is inexcusable even for a little league umpire.

Talk about tainted. Why should other countries play in the WBC when every close call goes the US's way? I'm rooting for US and all but this is beyond ridiculous.

Bob Davidson (the same ump) completely made the wrong call. It was a long fly ball to the RF corner, and it hit the foul poll, meaning a homerun. But they called it a GRD. It was plainly obvious that it was a homerun.

what happened?

A player from Team Mexico hit a homer which hit off the foul pole yet none of the umpires saw it. They got together and decided to call it a ground rule double. You can see the yellow paint on the ball that was hit.

Mexico hit a homerun that hit the right field foul/fair pole about 10 foot up and Bob Davidson was about 30 feet away and called it a double.

they must know - cantu just eliminated them. and the bad call no longer matters. they needed to win 3-0 in 13 innings to advance.

no mexico eliminated themselves. They had to score 3 runs in the 13th inning, after having the game be 0-0 until then. I don't know how that works but that's what they said on tv.
