United States will be in an elimination game with a re-match against team Mexico. Last time out Jake Peavy started against them and they were shut out 2-0. History better repeat itself or U.S. is screwed!

Clemens going on the mound against Oliver Perez. This game will be on ESPN and ESPN Deportes for those who have it.

United States Preview

ANAHEIM -- Every time he goes out there, the words "last start" are attached to the name Roger Clemens.

This game will be shown live at 6:30 on ESPN and ESPN Deportes (For those who have it)

And so, this is the way it is: If Clemens doesn't help Team USA defeat Mexico on Thursday night at Angel Stadium in the third and final game of the second round, the U.S. will be out of the World Baseball Classic, and the Rocket may have thrown his last game as a professional, again. That much was made certain after the U.S. lost, 7-3, to Korea on Monday night and Japan vanquished Mexico, 6-1, on Tuesday.

But for the Americans' game against Mexico to mean anything, Japan must lose to Korea on Wednesday night. Or if the Japanese win, they must score at least seven runs or allow eight runs or more.

Under any of those scenarios, the U.S. has to then defeat Mexico to move on. But if Japan wins a low-scoring game, the U.S. will be out and Thursday's game will be rendered meaningless.

Mexico Preview

ANAHEIM -- Team Mexico gets its first look at future Hall of Famer Roger Clemens of the United States on Thursday evening at Angel Stadium.

For Mexico (0-2), which lost its Round 2 opener to Korea on Sunday and fell to Japan on Tuesday, this is likely to be the final game of the World Baseball Classic. In order to advance to the semifinals in San Diego, it needs a minor miracle.

First, Korea must defeat Japan on Wednesday evening. Then, Mexico would need to defeat the United States, 1-0, in 14 innings to hold an edge over Japan and USA in the first tiebreaker, which is determined by the total runs allowed divided by innings played on defense.

What a craptastic Taco Bell Chicken Cesear Salad Burrito commercial.

Yet it makes me very much want to buy one.

I was thinking the same thing. "Just take a peak under its little toga."

Young flies out, Jeter grounds out, Griffey singles breaking his 0-10 with 5ks against the starter, and then Chipper flies out near the track.

Nice play by Barrett! Defensively, he's looked good in the WBC.

That was a routine play... but he is getting awesome defensively.

I kind of want Mexico to advance because they would be amazing to see (they have to not score at all until the 13th inning, and then score 3 (at once obviously, since they are at home)).
