What I meant is that control is usually the last thing back from surgery. We knew in the fall league that the stuff was back. If he gets the control back, he'll be hard to keep down.

Fair enough. I didn't realise he walked 12 in 30.2 AFL innings, which is wild for him.

On the radio...

Pat Hughes: "You know what is unique about Bill Hall don't you? He's got 4 L's in his name. 50% of the letters in his name are L's."

Ron Santo: "Here's a quarter, call somebody who cares."

Yes it was. Health and control seems to be the biggest concerns with Guzman right now.

didnt guzman have a year in the minors where he started out with like 80ks to 1 walk or something.

It was 40/0 in High-A in 2004.

Roughly 30 IP.

10-1 st game so I figure this is permissibly off-topic: pop-in from the NFL wire. Edgerrin James of the Colts just signed with the Cardinals. Over/under on games until Peyton throws his new RB under the bus after a poor performance?

Walk on 3-2 pitch, not controlling that FB. But he's throwing it really hard, really popping, hitters struggling to catch up to it, fouling it off late on it.

Why would anyone want to sign with them?

I like Gooz's changeup. Good late movement.

The curveball he's thrown about twice now, it's a bit big and loopy, neither was thrown for a strike.
