As an aside, this is the longest that the Cubs have gone without major uniform changes since the days of the solid blue road pullovers, '82-'89. The current duds have gone largely unaltered since 1997.

What do you consider largely unaltered? Didn't they do something with the trim and/or the names on the backs?

The home names were removed last year. I considered that a minor revision, since it didn't involve colors or logos.

I far prefer the dark ST blues over the regular season alternate unis.

I've long called for a color change, as well as losing the pinstripes on the home unis. yes, I know, it's tradition...but it's a losing tradition. nothing good has come of these uniforms, or the circular "C" since they first came on the scene in the mid 50's.

Color change, as in complete overhaul like the White Sox in the 90's when they went black and white?

The uniforms aren't the reason why they've lost a lot of games, changing them as some sort of effort to create a winner would be kind of pathetic.

color change as in back to the navy like suggested by others.

did you seriously interpret that as me saying the reason for losing is the uniforms?

I don't like the pinstripes. the usual response to that is "it's tradition." my response to that is "yes, a losing tradition, so why keep them." I don't think I implied in any way that the reason the Cubs lose alot of games is the uniforms.

You said nothing good came of the uniforms and they should be changed, it sounded very much like part of the reason you wanted change was for luck or something.

I would like navy. I really like the old school unis they wore in one of the first interleague games, in Comiskey. They were very dark, and I don't think they'd actually go to those though.

Personally I like the pinstripes. I'm fairly indifferent on either navy blue or royal blue, but I think the Cubs should keep the pinstripes.

It's not like the current Cubs uniforms are hideous like the old Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the San Diego Padres old uniforms were. There is nothing wrong with what they have so why change? People think that just because a team is losing a lot means they need new uniforms. The Cubs haven't won a World Series since 1908 and how many uniform changes have they had since then? I don't have the exact numbers, but changing uniforms obviously hasn't done anything for the Cubs. What makes you think it will make a difference now?

nobody is saying it would.

I don't like the pinstripes and am merely attacking a typical argument for keeping pinstripes, not implying that the uniforms have or had anything to do with the teams' ability to perform.

I would change the shade of blue before the stripes themselves. The current blue is too childish or something, I just don't like it much.

Perfectly suits Zambrano.

Zambrano is no child.

I love those road unis.

I also love the old bear with the bat logo.

That's it. The royal/bright red combination just doesn't befit a team with the tradition the Cubs have. It's really the kind of garish color combo you'd expect of an expansion team, or at worse, a Little League squad.

A road gray similar to what we have now, trimmed in navy and minus the goofy red cap bill would give the club a more mature presence.

I like the pinstripes. The greys are just horrible. They look like they're wearing little kids PJ's out there. I like the blues. Navy wouldn't be bad, only problem is, the Cubs primary color is royal blue. Actually, I believe the name of the color has been changed to Cubbie blue. If the Cubs primary color is blue, I think they should have at least one uniform that is blue.

Great pictures though. Zambrano looks weird in pinstripes, but it's good to see someone layin down a bunt for a change.

Zambrano has killed men for less.

Seriously though, wtf? What has Zambrano done lately that hasn't impressed you?

To be blount:

Love the light blue, or "cartoonish" as some would say, unis. The dark blue, are more spring training-ish to me. So I am indifferent there. I like the pinstripes, but WOULD love to go back to the straight up white unis.

I think something like this would be better as an alternate.

Those have to be Neifi's pants. They display his trademark combo of fat butt, fat gut, and toothpick thin calves.

looks like the bloody mets.

Prior's name on anything resembling the mets makes me physically ill.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing.
