and what were his offensive numbers post-May?

 

If I remember correctly, with the exception of a grand slam against St.Louis, he went .000/.000/.000 after May.

Both of those are pretty bad measures of defense. Neifi is a plus defender(although for his career he measures as nothing special at 2B), and his offense wipes out any of that advantage. There are scores of players that can equal Neifi's production, many with the youthful potential for improvement.

He did bat .274 better than these regular day SS. Vizquel, Uribe, Reyes, Cabrera, Greene.

 

i'd take any of those guys over Neifi in a heartbeat. Neifi is awful. There is a reason why he was released and was without a job before Hendry gave him one.

How would you Transmogrified Tiger measure defense then??? Or do you believe in defense at all??

 

Defense is a figment of imagination. TLR's holograms take care of stuff for the fans at the game, and TV magic does that for the people at home.

 

PMR is a good metric, there are several others that have their own advantages. There was a thread UK started a little while back had some good info.

The Neifi thing has been beat more than Rocky was in all 5 flicks. There's some good threads with detailed analysis of his woes (and his few strengths). Unfortunately the search is still down, but if you back track a bit, you'll find it.
