I will be appearing on "The Cheap Seats" tonight from 6-8 pm CDT. It's a local sports-talk show here in Jackson, TN. The show is available on the world wide web by going to http://www.wnws.com

I look forward to hearing from you Jaxx fans tonight...

Hey, Ron. What do you plan on talking about? Do you know if there's a way to email in questions?

By the way, I picked up a Diamond Jaxx hat online. I plan on wearing it out here when I'm not in the mood to represent the parent club.

I'll listen in, certainly, but I don't know about asking anything - the thing I'm really curious about we won't know until the season's well underway; whether or not there's more people going to watch the Jaxx this season after the events of the off-season.

Some notes from Ron so far:

Guzman and Pie won't be part of the Diamond Jaxx.

Marmol will probably be back in the starting rotation (I emailed in a question about him as a possible closer which he'll hopefully get), Rojas will probably be the starting shortstop, Craig may be back, Spearman will probably be back, Weston will probably be back if he's a member of the Cubs, O'Toole may be there.

Very cool, thanks for the info. The Cheap Seats is a very good show. It's good to know that WNWS is still doing their part in regards to supporting the Jaxx!

I guess it's good news/bad news with Guzman. If he starts at Iowa, they must think he's healthy and ready, but I would be a little happier with a more cautious approach.

Ron also went on to say that Pie might start the season at West Tenn if he has a bad Spring Training, but it's not terribly likely. This was all based from conversations with Fleita, I believe.

I didn't get your e-mail Jon.. it was fun to be on the Cheap Seats.. Seabass (the host) does a really nice job (as well as the rest of the staff) of promoting us.

As the season draws nearer, I'll be back on the show..

Yeah, I sent it to the email address on their website and got an email last night saying it didn't exist. I guess that's why they didn't advertise it.

For the record, I think you two didn't even last ten minutes before taking a shot at East St. Louis. Had to be done, though.

I will say that you need to sing more during your broadcasts.

Bass was talking about listening to the show on the internet so he was trying to get cities that started with an E.. naturally I took East St. Louis and it went downhill from there.

To answer your question, I think Marmol will start out as a starter. He looks pretty solid as a starter.. but I think he would be pretty dominating as a closer. His fastball would be upper 90's as a closer instead of 93-94 as a starter.

It's safe to say that what happens injury wise to the pitchers above Marmol (Triple-A and the show) will dictate what kind of pitcher Marmol becomes.

This was Fleita's comment too, that Marmol can throw a lot harder without losing his movement in short relief.

Ron, you mention throwing 93-94 in rotation, and perhaps high 90's in relief. How often was he 93-94? That seems faster than what BA's scouting report had on him.

mph reports always confuse me, because I never quite know what somebody means. Did he throw 93-94 two or three pitches every other game, but even in those throw mostly in the 89-92 range? And on slower days he was working 86-91 and topping at 92? Or are you talking about a guy who's routinely throwing 93-94, throwing a couple of fastballs in that range every inning of every game?

Obviously everybody has considerable scatter. Not many guys at any level, other than relievers, whose average fastball is 93-94. But probably every organization has two dozen guys who top out at 93-94 on at least a couple of pitches per month....

I meant topping out.. now that I look at it again, it is a tad confusing.. he threw low 90's during his stay in Jackson. Very rarely did he throw in the upper 80's.
