Hmmm... so threads that bash Cubs fans who aren't members here (see: Casual Cub Fan in Baseball Discussions) are okay, but nothing critical of NSBB, right? 3 pages of making fun of a Cub fan who had a different opinion than 95% of the people here, so it's acceptable. Even included these quotes:

"NSBB makes you smarter"

"This statement is actually true. No sarcasm."

1908, I have no problems with any posters here. Nothing personal against anyone. I just find the overwhelming attitude very condescending and pretensious, and dare I say hypocritical? Bash other sites and people... just don't say anything negative about this forum. Again... LOVE the insights, analysis, information, and knowledge here. Hate the self-righteousness.

Sorry if that's unacceptable. Didn't mean to hijack the thread. Be happy to move my thoughts over to the Rants forum if you need me to.

No intention of hijacking this thread with this banter, so I'll happily move my thoughts to the rant forum, if that's acceptable.

Hey, I'm an outsider but I agree team forums tend to overrate their own players. Check out how CardsTalk values Marquis, Reyes and Wainwright. I don't think your trolling or anything.

Nature of the beast, I guess.

Eric, I remember you from posting over at Cubs.com before the creation of NSBB. I understood the intent of your comment/opinion and, for what it's worth, was not offended by it.

This board is the sum of the people who post on it. When you describe the overwhelming attitude as condescending, pretentious or hypocritical, you're insulting the majority of people here. I hope you can see that.

You're welcome to talk baseball here as much as you'd like, but I'm asking you again to let the axe-grinding drop moving forward.

I will agree that this board tends to overate the cubs minor league players Kelton, Cruz, Choi, Hill, JVB, Patterson, Dubois ect. Granted Willis, Sisco, Zambrano ect everyone seemed to be pretty much right on target with. Ohman who was also highly rated by many before injuries looks to making strides toward being a great arm out of the pen after last seasons sucess.

Just out of curiousity, if Lidge is the "closer" type that the Phillies need, wouldn't Williamson be someone that they would be interested in?

Hear me out for a moment... Lidge is a top closer in this league and WIlliamson is not, granted. However, if Philiadelphia can fill more then 1 need "adequately" as opposed to 1 need extraordinary, which is better to do? Its kind of like the Herschel Walker deal in football. Not nessacarily quantity over quality but killing 2 birds with 1 stone.
