He wasn't offered arbitration by the Braves. I know the Cubs just signed Mabry so there may not be a need. I just thought he could be a pretty good pinch hitter. He could also be Dustyproof. He's not going to play 1B over Lee.

 

Again, with Mabry on board I don't think there is a need. Just thought maybe the old man could be a good bat off the bench.

Franco would be a good bat off the bench, but I think there is a need for somebody who can more than pne position. Franco, at this point , is only a 1b.

I really like the Idea of Franco off the bench, he can still hit and can play a decent first base.

Mabry-1b, 3b, 2 outfield spots

Perez - short,second,third

Blanco - C

Hairston-outfield ,second base, short,

 

really no idea who the other outfielder will be or how many pitchers will carry but Franco and Mabry as the first bats off the bench would look nice.

Franco is wholly unnecessary. You don't fill the bench for bat potenital. You need to first consider positions. The Cubs do not need another back-up 1B.
