Is he serious? What luck! We haven't won squat in almost 100 years! Gimme a flippin' break!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't let it bother you. That's just frustration. Their team save for their hot start hasn't done squat.

For months they let him sit in the minors. Months. Can't tell me that didn't hurt us. Aren't they supposed to see a good player and recognize that? I mean he only won the MVP of the damn league they put him in and we were desperate for a good player at his position. That's why I don't like Hendry. If most fans can tell when it's time to bring a player up and your GM lets him rot in the minors what does that say about his expertise? How long did it take for us to get rid of Izturis or K Hill? There's no excuse for it, not from a MLB GM.

Wow, Soto man. I can't help it but I have to say it. Hendry is an idiot. It took him wayyy too long to get rid of some of the scrubs(Hill,Izturis) on this time and bring up some of the minor leaguers deserving to be on this team. And to let's drop a cherry on top by losing prospects(Blevins).

Kendall has been awesome for 1 month. The other 2 months his OPS is in the 5's thats not good. Couple that with his terrible defense and inability to throw out King Kong Bundy trying to steal, and his performance with the Cubs has been subpar. There is plenty of reason to believe Soto could have put up better numbers on the average then Jason Kendall. Additionally, regardless of Soto's production, we would have a much better idea of what to do for Catcher next year. Ya, that is exactly what I am thinking about these last 2 months. And by the way, I still think Kendall has been awesome for this team I'm not sure I follow...I was trying to say that we should have started Soto regularly a long time ago to get a good read as to whether or not he could take over the starting job next year. Kendall is a defensive liability. Too many passed balls and not enough thrown-out baserunners.

I mostly agree with this. The only thing that makes me wonder is that it seems pretty obvious to me that Blanco is going to retire after the year. If Blanco retires, Kendall will likely be signed back, and then it will probably be an open competition in ST next year. Do you think so? Clearly he should, and there does seem to be some signs that he will. I'm just not sure I see any reason for him to throwaway that money though. Guys usually wait until they no longer have any guaranteed money coming to them before they retire. And while I could see the Cubs and Henry agreeing to some sort of buyout, I could just as easily see Blanco stick around to keep drawing the check. He'd likely stick around on the 60 day DL, though. Blanco is not going to retire. I fully expect him to honor his contract unfortunately.

I'm happy for the win but there's no excuse to allow Marmol to pitch in this game,let alone for 2 innings. I'm scared his time with us will be short.

Allowing him to pitch for us against any team is a terrible idea. It's a joke that he's here, it has to be.

I agree with some here, I'd rather blame the pathetic offense first before I start blaming Demp or the bullpen. Kendall sure as hell didn't help with his passed ball either.

I understand your point, but just about every team in the league would kill to have the numbers our entire staff has put up. Not many teams can get the production out of the 3-4-5 that we have got Very true. Adding Trachsel to the mix was dumb. Marshall wasn't a world beater but he's better than old man Trach. All we really needed was for Z to step up. Let's hope his last outing is a sign of things to come.

Sucks that our best pitcher has a 3.85 ERA. You usually expect more from an ace of the staff. Lilly has been good for us all year but on a good pitching staff he wouldn't be considered an ace.

So scouts and some fans notice a difference in arm delivery for Marmol and the Cubs coaching staff cannot?

Only Ward and if we can get someone to offload Blanco who IMO is pretty much useless, that would be even better. Wood isn't what he used to be, it's the Cubs and him part ways.

There's no need to compare Eric to Corey, jeez some people need to get over that. I support the Cubs for demoting him. He has been given the opportunity to play for the big league club and was showing up late to the games. Not exactly how things should work when you haven't even established yourself as a major leaguer.

Smelly garbage for rotten garbage. I just wonder if Trachsel is going to move into the rotation for Marshall, and Marshall used in the bullpen. That's what I'm expecting. Marquis isn't going anywhere either.

I would only sign Kendall to a 1 year deal and get rid of Blanco and leave Soto as our 2nd catcher. -
I'm not going to lose sleep over losing them both.
