    people have proven that lineup order has little affect on outcomes of games Not to mention that why people have been saying this, Theriot has been terrible lately before today: Here's his August line: .288/.306/.339 And here is his last 7 days: .250/.241/.286 Both of those are coming into play today. stop ruining Cynosure's perceptions of reality! So show me your 'people' that have proven it doesn't matter who your leadoff hitter is. Bill James has pretty much proven that lineup order doesn't matter. Line-up order doesn't matter? Yea right! That's false, I can see the logic in the lead-off batter not mattering as much. But what you said is 100% completely false. You have to protect your best hitters, and that is a fact. As long as you bunch up the good hitters, you're fine. Nothing else matters. NOPE that's not what he said... he said it's been proven LINE UP ORDER DOESN'T MATTER that says nothing about bunching up the good hitters. I personally believe lineup order does matter. Imagine having the pitcher and neifi in front of your best hitter instead of having them in the 8 and 9 spot.

    Marquis is damaged goods. I'm sure the Cardinals front office was peeing in their pants from laughter when we signed the terrible Marquis to a 3/21 contract. There's a reason why they told him to stick it and left him off the playoff roster.

    This sucks. We're completely out of sync right now. Our pitching is getting hammered and our offense has been bad. One thing I would like to add is Wood looked very bad in Colorado(probably because of the altitude) but his pitches last night looked amazing.

    In other words, one season's worth of Jay Payton. If the Cubs didn't exist, the Orioles would be the worst franchise in MLB. While I agree that the Orioles are a pretty bad franchise, Wieters is asking for the moon here.

    He's nowhere near the same as he once was. If he goes back on the DL, it will be the last time Wood will be a Cub. Thanks for the wonderful years Wood but it's time for the Cubs to move on.

    Yea he was brought to Wrigley in an ambulance to watch. Condolences to the Floyd family. After something like this how long is a player usually on the bereavement list. I know it depends on the person, but for people who have seen this before? No less than 3days, no more than 7 days.

    He started off very good, then was really bad but the last month he has been pretty good. 2W 35ip 31K 4.11ERA 1.34WHIP.

    I can see that(Wood scenario) as very possible. I guess we will know soon enough.

    Young showed a lot of talent last year but I would not feel confident going into the season as my #1 QB. I'd rather take a chance on someone more established.
