  1. I was really enjoying this thread until people started posting cartoons of women.
  2. Honestly, that does make a lot of sense having them play at a neutral stadium.
  3. Our office in Houston will be shutting down in 2 hours and won't be coming back until Monday at the earliest. Don't know if it's precautionary though.
  4. I would probably give him 2/20.
  5. Judging by Cashner's numbers he's stepped it up in the playoffs.
  6. Call me crazy but I think I would rather face Arizona over LA at this point.
  7. That's what I would do at this point. Play Hoff in RF and move Kos to CF. Edmonds had a nice run but he's been bad the past month or so. 808 OPS the last 28 days. I know this pretty much isn't the best way to look how bad Edmonds has been but I was going off of Yahoo fantasy. If you click on the last month for Edmonds it says as follows: 9/53AB .170 AVG 11R 2HR 6RBI
  8. What the hell? He just goes home and calls Jim and tells his arm is sore and he can't pitch? Let's face it, Lieber didn't contribute a damn this year to this team. I think after his latest outing he realized he no longer can be a MLB pitcher.
  9. That's what I would do at this point. Play Hoff in RF and move Kos to CF. Edmonds had a nice run but he's been bad the past month or so.
  10. Marcus Harrison looked REALLY good. There was a play or two where he just blew up the line.
  11. I was wrong about Forte. I thought he looked to be a Benson clone with his running style but I was wrong. He looked better than Benson yesterday. I would've liked to see Orton throw more passes but he looked ok and did a good job managing the game. He had 2 passes that I saw that looked great. I think one was to Olsen. The biggest surprise of the game though goes to the Indy line. Considering they had rookies and undrafted players at the C and both G positions I thought they did an excellent job stopping the blitz and for the most part protecting Manning.
  12. briggs has been huge this game.
  13. I was wrong about Forte. He looks much better than Benson.
  14. I definitely don't want Edmonds back. Dempster has looked really good but this smells like a Pavano situation where the pitcher in a contract year pitches extremely well and that goes back to norm after he signs a big pay day. I only want him signed if he signs a good contract.
  15. But my point is, it's not. The 2008 Cubs are not a completely independent scenario. They are shaped by the management staff of previous years' Cubs, as well as Cubs players who were on previous teams. Perhaps there is something about the types of players Hendry prefers that causes them to be so unsuccessful in late-season sitautions? I'm not saying it's certain, but I'm saying pretending that every single season's edition of the Cubs is an independent run is wrong. I was talking about comparing the 2008 cubs to the 2005 white sox.
  16. Every scenario is different, especially in baseball.
  17. Hart looked really good last year. Let's hope he has figured it out and can be what he was last year.
  18. Drafting Cashner really made no sense.
  19. Per rotoworld: Rich Harden, who isn't scheduled to start again until next Wednesday, admitted to some arm discomfort. "I’ve been feeling pretty good, but I guess I’ve had a little bit of discomfort you could call it. But nothing serious," he said. It's always serious when it comes to Harden. He'll go 11 days without pitching before attempting to return to the mound next week.
  20. I'd rather have him pitch over Howry any day.
  21. I felt he got squeezed by the ump several times, his stuff looked great. If Lou had gone to him instead of Howry we win that game last night in 9. His stuff was electric. Especially that one pitch that hit 91 but had the break of most mortals' curve. He sure looks like a good option to replace Howry on the playoff roster. If Howry makes the playoff roster I will be pissed.
  22. I think he actually hit 96 once. He looks pretty good.
  23. There's probably no way he gets released now with Sept callups and all but let's hope he doesn't make the playoff roster..
  24. I blame Lou for this mess. His ridiculous man love for Howry is costing us games.
