  1. Is it me or does Hester look slower this year?
  2. Howry, at least he got us off to the start we needed in the playoffs with the HR. Obviously the boot on the ground ball was equally big, but come on. Sorry, I don't give him a pass for one good at bat all series. The time was for him to put up or shut up. The rest of the series he was terrible. He had opportunity after opportunity to come through and he Howry the bed. I don't want to hear anymore talk from the Cubs, just get it done. DeRosa drove in 4 runs in 12 AB's this series. The rest of the team drove in 2 runs in 104 AB's. And tonight when he had an easy chance to drive in a run, he blew it. Why are you defending a guy that played like Howry this series? The only reason I single him out, is because he is the one that is always running his mouth on his blog. Stop blogging and start producing. Granted it is not his fault entirely, but next year he should do a little less talking and a little more producing. I lay more blame on lou, aram and soriano over anyone else.
  3. Lee stepped up. He is NOT who I was talking about. Lee looked and performed like he was the only one who cared. He might not have had a great season by his or our standards but I can't blame his desire. Soriano on the other hand needs to get traded to the Mariners. Yup. I was pissed at Lee too this series but tonight he knew what was at stake and he stepped up. He was watching the entire game and not sitting on the bench with his head down and his legs folded like someone else.
  4. Only fitting that the season ends on a Soriano strikeout. He's dead to me as far as i'm concerned. To see him sitting all by himself with his head down on the bench said it all to me. Imagine how bad he will be when he's 38 and ripping this team off.
  5. He has a child he cannot see a lot. Some issues with the mother. That's what was reported on the radio.
  6. No to Manny. He's 36. He probably doesn't have more than 2 good years left in him. Not worth the contract unless he signs for a 2/35 which wouldn't happen.
  7. Not to overreact, but are we looking at the end of Harris's career? Or just a bad time here? With a guy as emotionally unstable as Harris appears, you never know. I'd say the chances are slim that he actually walks away for good, but who knows what kind of effort or production they will get out of him this year. Yeah, the guy might have some emotional issues. It wasn't too long ago he was thinking of retiring after he completed his first year.
  8. It could be more than just that though. Who knows how he was acting in the clubhouse?
  9. I heard on the radio some people heard Lou screaming at Soriano to have some guts. I'm glad he's starting to call out these mental midgets.
  10. Even with the injuries I still have the Bears pegged to win it. As far as Tommie, you know what we've seen flashes of a good DT but has even come close to being as good as a young Sapp? i don't think so, if anything Harris might be one of the most overrated players.
  11. I doubt this offense even scores a run this game.
  12. Yeah, let's hope that's the last time we have people blaming the fans for this team's crappy performance.
  13. I'm just so shocked right now. I mean i felt this was our best chance to make it and when it's all said and done, we weren't even close.
  14. Cubs - The biggest choke artists in the world, ever and I unfortunately was born and raised a fan.
  15. I blame the moron Lou for this. We should have been facing the Mets but he wanted to go to NY and win games from a slumping team. People were warning about the Dodgers but some didn't listen, now we're screwed.
  16. You expected anything else from the chokingist franchise in the history of American sports? 1999, 1984, 1989, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008. Go to hell, Cubs. Go to hell and die. Settle down, the game's not over. Yeah, I know, the Cubs aren't going to win, but blind optimism is needed here. :( We're down 5 runs. There is NOTHING to be optimistic about.
  17. We're done. If we couldn't win this year we will never win. I'm sick of this crap.
  18. Because he signed the QO that might not be possible.
  19. Interesting on the Shark. The scouts take were the same as Vance's take when he saw him pitching as a starter in the minors.
  20. Vasher had surgery and is OUT for this week's game.
  21. I hope so. i was never a fan of his.
