  1. It seems like new ownership wants to go on a different direction. From what I have read here and other places LaMar sounded like one crazy dude. Who knows, maybe not playing the kids this year POed ownership as well.
  2. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20051006&content_id=1240128&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
  3. Soriano would be a terrible idea. I would be against that move.
  4. Hendry will have to go crazy if he wants us to get into the playoffs. Here are the players I would like to see gone: Neifi Macias Rusch Burnitz Patterson Nomar - undecided because of his offense but his defense is terrible and he is a risk to be injured again. More than likely HE GAWN!!
  5. The one that really matters is still here.
  6. You bring up valid points and I agree with you that's why I think Hendry will have his hands full offseason. Gut-check time for Mr. Hendry.
  7. Now you guys got me thinking. Lineups that to me would be acceptable: Pierre Murton Giles Lee ARam Nomar Barrett Cedeno PITCHER Furcal Murton Giles Lee ARam Barrett Cedeno Patterson PITCHER I like the first one better because it gets rid of the bust Patterson completely from the picture which is a GREAT thing. If we were to sign a SP, I would like to have Burnett. You can replace Giles with another legit OF bat if necessary but I think both lineups are attainable and an improvement over this year.
  8. I'm glad Bradley is going to start. Realistically Gage and Wade suck. I really like to see what we have in Airese Curie. He is a speed burner but he is not elgible to come back until week 6, but he is recovering from a bye week. I think he can be a pretty good WR for us and def better than Wade IMO. Here's hoping the Bears win this one.
  9. Not really, he actually can be very inaccurate with his arm. With DLee on the other side, it will be better, but he is a lot like Aram with the strong but inaccurate arm. Furcal's outstanding defensively. In fact, I don't know how I missed him when I was looking to see who could give Neifi a run for his money this year for the Gold Glove. Going along with this Furcal discussion I was looking on the Hardball Times today and was looking at Win Shares. Furcal had 27 win shares compared to Miguel Tejada's 26. Thought that was interesting. Furcal gets no love here but I woudl like to have him at SS, but it complicates things with Nomar and Cedeno. Hendry has his work cut out for him that is for sure.
  10. That type won't get us anywhere. You can take that to the bank. We all know that but, such a move screams of Hendry, Encarnacion, Preston Wilson, Jacque Jones or Jose Cruz Jr. (although he'd be a FA signing) these are what we can expect. Then, at least those who are left watching are in for a loong season yet again.

  12. So much for getting Millwood. he is going to sign a mult-year deal with the Indians. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=fanball-indiansmillwoodtoget&prov=fanball&type=lgns EDIT: It looks like they will offer a multi-year deal. So he is not guaranteed to go back with the Indians but I think he will.
  13. Sounds like Jim is a straight-up guy.
  14. Wrigley Field would be like Lord of the Rings? How far are we for that to come to fruition? It already is a damn circus.
  15. Thanks. Personally, if Dotel can regain some his form after surgery, a Dotel-Dempster backend of the pen with Ohman, Wuertz and Novoa for 6th-7th inning match-ups could be quite formidable. By the way, do you have any clue as to what we can expect in return for Patterson? I like it although I do not think Dotel would be ready by the beginning of the season. A deal similar to Dempster's or Williamson's would be great though.
  16. I'm glad they did it. The city of Chicago deserves a good team. I'm a Cubs fan but 'm still rooting for the WSox to win it all.
  17. Nicely put. I'm with you 100%.
  18. There is nothing more to say. If Baker, Macias and Perez are here I might have to start rooting for a smart organization because this one is straight up DUMB!
  19. How ignorant is Hendry and the Cubs organization to not see all these faults within Baker?
  20. Dusty had no problem benching the kids, but he used Macias every chance he had. Baker is at fault. If he really didnt want Macias he could have got rid of him during spring training when his contract was NOT guaranteed. We even had better options of the bench we could have used during ST.
  21. Weaver was getting 9.2 mil? Ouch. Burnett is my first choice.
  22. Lee, one of the few bright spots of this year and believe me there were not many.
  23. I truly believe even when healthy we would have not made the playoffs.
