  1. I personally do not think Barrett is at fault here. When he was catching for the Expos they had one of the lower team ERAs. The simple fact is that our pitchers have been underachieving. Our offense has been terrible, and those are just a few stats to prove that. It really is unfortunate that most of us understand that yet Hendry does not. This whole season has made me sick to my stomach.
  2. When you lead the league in these categories it is no surprise you cannot make the playoffs, and it shows you how bad our managing and GM have been this year. Sorry if this was posted earlier. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-050919cubsrowcenter,1,5721533.story?coll=cs-home-headlines
  3. Perfect example although I think Murton has a better eye than Barrett.
  4. Chady Tracy = A lefty Murton :)
  5. We will need Murton in LF next year and acquire another OF or 2 to take care of RF and CF. At this point I think Murton is a lock for next season.
  6. Hendry will never be Fred, eh ?? Ha, fired :)
  7. Murton still keeps on hitting. At this point, how bad is Corey Patterson? He is close to having an AVG below .200. He keeps doing that and the only thing he will be good for is a pinch-runner.
  8. Macias and Perez in the 1-2 hole? We're going to the playoffs.
  9. 100 mil payroll and this is the team we have? Yeah, somebody should be fired. If indeed Baker gets a 2 year extension then Hendry should be fred just for that. Actually, a good GM would have fired Baker already.
  10. Per Bruce Levin ESPN 1000. Maddux told him personally that he will be back next year playing for the Cubs. That was obvious but at least we know for certain now.
  11. How many unsuccessful drag bunts are we going to see from Neifi?
  12. With that I agree. He is having some problems, but he wasn't healthy the whole year. He shows flashes of his brilliance - so he still has it. Maybe Larry sucks? Maybe playing for this crappy team doesn't bring out the best in him? He's still a very good pitcher. I do agree he has it in him, but there has to be a problem somewhere. Pitching coach, mechanics, catcher, sucky team. Who knows but he hasnt pitched the same for a while now. You are right he wasnt healthy all year, and maybe that ball that hit him on the elbow changed something. It def isnt velocity related because he ranges from 93-95
  13. He's not a BAD pitcher per se but when you were pitching in the mid 2.5 era for a year and now you are getting close to a 3.80 era there is a problem somewhere. Another thing that is troubling is the amount of pitches he has been throwing per inning.
  14.      Why, you mean to tell me Prior is a dominating pitcher? Heck no he's not so roll your eyes some place else.
  15. He gets an extension and I am done with the team until he is gone. I don;t think I deserve to have to sit through more of his crap. Agreed. Theres no way I can handle anymore years with that moron of a manager.
  16. I just cant believe how bad Prior got. This team is in shambles.
  17. Prior all year has looked AVERAGE!! Im starting to believe that he overachieved in 2003. Will the real Prior please stand up.
  18. I would def NOT give comeback player of the year to Giambi. How ridiculous would it be that he would get the award after doing steroids and possibly having that tumor because of use from it? Another slap in the face for MLB if he gets the award IMO.
  19. I was ecstatic when we traded for Jerome. Overall, his ERA is at 4.30 which isn't bad at all. I think he will be our #5 starter next year. I am not a fan of Millwood sorry.
  20. Yeah, and for Macias, the guy who is pinch hitting at a .184 clip.
  21. Dusty to anywhere but here. I will even pay for his coach class ticket anywhere to the 48 states. Hendry if you are reading this, I'm being serious I will pay for the plane ticket to get the man out of town.
  22. What fifth starter spot? The way I have the lineup is: Z,Prior,Wood,Maddux, Williams. I don't see that changing unless there is an injury which is highly likely.
  23. Thats the game. Neifi swings at the first pitch for the out (what else is new) and Macias watches two called strikes and swings at ball 1 for the out. Those guys are winners.
