  1. I don't know if I'd ever trust the guy. I could. His stuff has always looked good. I think it's just a matter of figuring it out like he had in the past.
  2. Jim Hendry a top 10 GM? LOL. If you give this type of payroll to most GM's I would expect a better roster. This is the same guy who just recently traded DeRo for peanuts only to one up his mistake by signing Miles to a 2 year deal. We can go wayyy back and find so many flaws in Jim Hendry. I've seen enough of him to know he is no better than an average GM and that may be stretching it.
  3. Actually, when it has come to injuries or predicting injuries he's been really accurate.
  4. Including today Gaudin has had 17 walks in 22IP so far this year.
  5. I'd rather have him over Miles who is completely and I do mean completely worthless on this roster.
  6. Sorry JYoung but I disagree. Favre was being an ass even coming out at one point and saying "What are they going to do fire me?" I can totally understand why the Packers front office made the move to go forward without Favre. Before the draft last year they asked him if he was retiring or staying. Fare started the same ol' BS and told them he wasn't ready to make the decision yet and eventually said he was retiring. The Packers moved on and made moves drafting a couple QB's on top of having Rodgers on the team. All of a sudden Favre decides he isn't ready to retire and wants to come back to a team that already wasted most of their cap money on free agents and also drafted additonal QB's. What kind of crap is that? I take the Packers side on this entire issue. How can anyone not get sick of the retired unretired crap that Favre has been pulling for the past 3-4 years?
  7. Not to worry guys. Lou has Cotts warming up for us.
  8. Why do we always have to have that one guy that is overpaid, sucks, and gets a lot of playing time? I can't stand Miles.
  9. I don't care if he sends Zambrano to first, someone else needs to play. Lee is a parody of himself right now. I'm sick of Lee's BS. The most logical thing to have done was DL him.
  10. They have a chance, but it's going to be more complicated than just sitting back and waiting for the youngsters to develop. They have some awful cap decisions to make in the next few years, starting with this offseason when they will almost certainly have to let Khabibulin go. My biggest fear is that Buffalo will throw a ton of money at Kane when he is eligible and we won't have the cap room to match. Khabi is a goner and I'm ok with it. Let's face it they made the decision to sign Huet last offseason probably because they felt he was a better goalie than Khabi and younger. I'm not saying I agree with that but they already made the decision to move on from Khabi last offseason.
  11. There's also stuff in that link about working with Ascanio and Samardzija, and how Ascanio has passed Atkins as the next starter on the depth chart for the big league club. Very good article. Thanks for posting
  12. Wow, that was bad. He deserves a suspension.
  13. On the bright side all 3 acquired from the DeRo trade have probably raised their values a bit so far with their strong starts to the season.
  14. Nobody will. I don't see Lee going anywhere. We're stuck with him.
  15. If Soto isn't 100% healthy then you have to bench him for a while. He also looked to have gained some weight this offseason. I remember one of the reasons why he had a breakout season in the minors was at least partially due to him losing weight.
  16. He had a rough start, but his last 2 starts have been very good. And he "somehow kept his ERA down last year?" Yeah, that lucky bastard. It was all just smoke and mirrors to have the year he had. It's your typical story. Player busts his ass in a contract year does very well, signs big contract and the next year he goes back to the norm. Is it not what's happening here so far? I stand by what I said.
  17. I don't even feel sorry for him. He had it coming. He should have retired years ago. Hendry is the only idiot to give him a job.
  18. What the hell are you talking about? He wasn't terrible today by any means. What the hell are you talking about? 4er 3 walks and an impressive 4.98 era for the season. 2 of those earned runs came in the 7th, which he shouldn't have been out for since he was well over 100 pitches yet Lou sent him out anyway against the Brewer's best hitters. Through 6, when everyone expected him to come out, he had pitched a good game. He probably should have come out in the 6th but I still feel the same way. He's been garbage. He somehow managed to keep his era down last year and get a fat contract. This year he is back to his career numbers.
  19. What the hell are you talking about? He wasn't terrible today by any means. What the hell are you talking about? 4er 3 walks and an impressive 4.98 era for the season.
  20. Dempster might be ths Cubs' biggest FA bust in a while. I knew that fool was a one hit wonder.
