  1. It's interesting what a "let them all in" playoff philosophy will change how fans look at their teams. I don't see how any Bulls fan could be happy with this team finishing .500 and losing in the first round, and failing to take any sort of step forward after last season. In reality, making the playoffs isn't an accomplishment in either the NHL or NBA. What this season has established is who the real core of this team is. The Bulls have seen substantial improvements in many players' games. Have you looked at their interior? It is beyond awful. They need somebody in there who can score and play some decent defense on Shaq. The team is flawed, sure, but there is a lot of progress from this season that if you watched more often you'd see.
  2. Go wherever the money is the greatest and the danger is maximized. The faster Roger is retired from baseball by someone, the better.
  3. Interested in Shelton?
  4. To the best of my knowledge, SweetPete is still up since he technically didn't lose. He was unable to be on last night and I started the game thread. When the Cubs lose (should be soon), my guess is that you'd make your start.
  5. I made a deal today. I acquired struggling pitcher Carlos Zambrano and Melvin Mora in exchange for Ryan Freel and Kris Benson. Freel may be heading to the bench soon, and while Carlos has REALLY struggled, he's gotta pick it up at some point... right?
  6. I'm not ashamed to admit I left early. What a craptacular performance.
  7. I just pulled a 517 row one seat for 14 bucks with all the taxes and bs fees. Lots of choices for seats, even with Bleachers available.
  8. SweetPeteMan is MIA, but that doesn't mean we can't keep his streak going. Going tomorrow are two great young pitchers. Angel Guzman who struggled a tad in his Major League Debut going up against Zach Duke. Duke pitched well in his one outing against the Cubs a couple of weeks ago, and we're going to make sure we buck that trend tomorrow. Game's at 1:20 on WGN so all you outta towners can see it (hopefully). Great seats still available. Head on out for one of the last couple "value" days of the year!~ GO CUBS!
  9. Take an email address that you already get spam with and use that as the email addy you put in for the ballotting.
  10. Just pumped out 50 votes. That really takes no time. Saves all your picks and fun stuff.
  11. 25 a day. Barrett's accomplishments must be recognized!
  12. Anyone worried Rusch will get the treatment over Marshall when guys start to get healthy?
  13. If we win, I go to game tomorrow. Incentive Cubs. You like my money.
  14. Wasn't Rusch's first rodeo in KC painful enough for them?
  15. It'd be awesome to see him come back and in his first start, Murton drills one off his forehead so he could retire for good. It'd make me love Murton even more.
  16. Shaq was in foul trouble most of the game. Bulls did a good job on him once again. Could be a different story in Miami without TC, however. The only person on the Heat who played "well" was Toine. The little shimmy was out of place. I was hopin Luke would go "Posey" on him ;)
  17. He wasn't negotiating against himself? I thought he signed Glendon before Glendon talked to any other teams. so he negotiated against himself for lee too? there was a market for rusch, he just didn't let him test it. When did Lee ever become a FA?
  18. Huston should be able to beat out Gould rather easily. Huston's a monster on kickoffs, too.
  19. Does anyone even know what the reason Prior is on the DL for? He has just disappeared out of sight and mind. I don't know what's wrong with him.
  20. Could the Bulls afford to draft a guy like Bargnani and work him in w/ moderate minutes in hopes he becomes a beast up front like is expected? Then sign a stop gap at C for a season or two, draft a big 2 guard? Chandler, Bargnani, stopgap C, Sweetney, Songaila, Allen, Harrington (last two would probably be dumps) could be a good enough front line with the backcourt maturing. I think the Bulls could afford to wait one season on Bargnani.
  21. Johnson's too big of an injury risk for someone like Young.
  22. The Broncos are so masterfully run, Jazz. How Shanahan keeps getting great years out of the backs w/o Alex Gibbs, I'll never know. His managing of the salary cap is top notch as well. They'd be fools to get rid of him in the not to distant future. And he's also an awesome guy. Did an interview with me in high school for a piece I was doing in our school newspaper about past athletes. He was very gracious with his time.
  23. That was Dan Cody, now a Baltimore Raven. Dusty is the guy that bashed his friends face in with a baseball bat and got kicked off the team for a year. From the draft guide I have, sounds like he was good at getting penetration in the middle. I believe he had some 18 tackles for a loss, which is pretty good, especially in a down year for the OU D. That's not as questionable of a pick as the preceding two picks.
