  1. Dope doesn't seem like he'd be a good fit in Philly. The Cubs are probably shopping him pretty hard since Lee is here for five more years and I haven't heard any news about Dope playing another position. For that same reason, I couldn't see the Phillies being interested in Dope.
  2. He's probably the most popular player on the team. He even has a graphic for his Noh-see-oh-nee chant. I was shocked. I hope there's a potential clinch on Thursday and to be there. I loved the atmosphere today and I want another piece of it.
  3. Good pitcher + great park + not that many great pitchers out there = no brainer trade. First Basemen, even those with great OBP's like Johnson, are replacable.
  4. I hear from a very reliable source that Nick Smith is an ass. BTW: Does anyone else get the impression from TNT/ABC announcers that they are rooting for the Bulls to lose? What do they have against this team? I mean, I don't really like Johnny "Red" Kerr, but at least he roots for his team. These guys are supposed to stay out of the fandom and are unabashadly rooting against the Bulls. I don't know if you heard Steve Kerr on last week with the morning midday guys on ESPN Radio, but he was fawning over Kirk Hinrich, thinking he's one year away from being as good as Steve Nash. Kerr is a good basketball man, and while I don't think Hinrich will be that good, at least he shows some love for the Bulls. The Bulls' young nucleus is just really good. Anyone know when Noc is a FA?
  5. Luke vs. Shaq would be like sending an orphan to a pack of wolves. The Bulls' big man depth chart is depressing: Michael Sweetney Malik Allen Othella Harrington Luke Schenscher
  6. Could anyone imagine the hard on Bill Walton would have had if he were doing this game?
  7. The end was a hose job, but that was a great performance by the Lakers.
  8. What the heck did Wright do to fall like a rock? Warp, is Roth supposed to be starting at DE opposite JT this year? He was fun to watch at Iowa.
  9. I wish I'd taped it :(
  10. It was very raucous inside. I'm glad to see that. Heard the crowd on Monday was a little more calm and collective. This was great to see.
  11. Just got back from the game and the crowd was amped the entire time. Nocioni chants abound, people standing for almost the entire fourth quarter. What a roller coaster. My first playoff game in any real league (AHL Wolves don't count) and I was so pumped. What an awesome game, awesome seat, and awesome crowd.
  12. Very nice. Marcedes will still be there by the time the Bears pick. Two extra picks. I look to add Lewis or Pope early 2nd. Moss late 2nd. CB early 3rd (Jennings, Marshall, Griffin) and possibly a guy like Rob Sims in the 3rd. Angelo better hope that Lewis is still there. If it works out, he will get an extra pick out of it. If not, he lost out on Lewis just to be greedy. Lewis would have been an overdraft at 26. Good move by the Bears. 13 picks til the Bears draft and you still have guys at non-need positions for the Bears available. White, Jackson, Justice (though the last 2 would have been nice), Mangold, Kiwanuka, Rod Wright, Howard, Ryans, McNeil. I'd wager most of those guys are gone by 42, if not all of them.
  13. BWAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAH. Nice work Jerry.
  14. Second and third. Why would the Bears do the latter?
  15. Its not about taking a TE here. There will be one at 42, whether it be Pope or Lewis. You take a top 20 talent there. Jackson or Jimmy Williams. Justice would have given great depth at the tackle spot.
  16. Who? John McCargle? \
  17. Bills second and third rounder for 26 overall.
  18. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.. Stupid move by the Bears. Jackson, Justice, Williams still on the board and they trade down? wow. I bet the Bills take Justice here.
  19. If I'm the Bears, there's no way I trade down. Way too much high level talent left. Watch them draft someone crappy, though...
  20. A guard? That's like taking a center.
  21. TB should take Winston Justice. Top ten talent falling because of character issues. Would be a steal here.
  22. Watch NE take DeAngelo Williams here.
  23. The Bears should be trying to trade up and grab Jimmy Williams. Move Peanut to safety.
  24. Hali wasn't a first round talent. Reminds me of Calvin Pace a couple years ago. Projected as a second round talent, reached by a team desperate for defensive help. He'll be "servicable"
