  1. Stole his third base today, on pace for about 25 or so.
  2. I guess we can leave it at that, because the whole issue is rather useless anyway.
  3. You use the first when you like the player, and you use the second when you don't. No, you use the second when a new guy is with the ballclub and he has performed poorly, as in, "Jacque Jones and Juan Peirre have been terrible as Cubs" becuase they have. The statement makes no prognostications about the future. It is only a statement about the present. What? If it makes a statement about the present and ONLY the present, how does that only encompass "new" players to the team?
  4. I'd have still have Freel, Hanley Ramirez (about 30 steals worth), and Granderson for steals, would end up around 110 or so for roto.
  5. That would be the dumbest reason ever to sign him. OMG HE KILLS THE WHITE SOX FOR 6 GAMES A YEAR!!!!
  6. Your hitting better be 193036898 times better than rest of the league's with that sorry staff.
  7. I've got Lugo, Kinsler, and Ramirez all with the potential to man short for me. Lugo is the highest valued player, and Ramirez has the POTENTIAL to put up similar numbers as Lugo. If not, Kinsler is there to help out. That being said, is a guy like Michael Barrett a fair offer for Lugo? Bear in mind, my current catching situation is very "un-ideal". I've got Toby Hall behind the plate in a very deep league with Ryan Doumit (who I previously dropped) on the waiver wire at this point.
  8. The word is White Sox fans are begging for a larger fan base, they will accept you with open arms. Uncalled for. I actually thought it was pretty fitting. The entire post struck me as a "fair weather" response.
  9. In a freaking heartbeat.
  10. In fairness, his other post had Halladay listed, and his 05 was on par with Prior's 03, and Halladay's 03 is better than anything else Prior has put up.
  11. ehhh, jeter's got a better park to hit in and beltran provides a lot more defensive value i'd say it's awfully close, and that's only if you look ONLY at 2005. i suspect things will be different this year. They might be different this year, you're right. But Beltran's struggles last year were astronomical given his "biggest FA in history" hype. Is Yankee Stadium really that much of a hitter's park?
  12. 05 numeros: Derek Jeter: (we'll be close and say 20 mil) .389/.450/.839 Carlos Beltran (17 mil): .330/.414/.744 Huh, guess Jeter isn't the most overpaid. His buddy on the other side of town is much worse.
  13. OO, is that Av of Bellick from Prison Break? I'm guessing I'm wrong...
  14. wtg Pierre! Lineup without Lee: Pierre Hairston Aramis Barrett Walker Murton Jones Cedeno
  15. That throw reminded me of a friend of mine trying to throw somebody out at home plate in softball. He threw it about 75 feet (distance, not height fools) over the backstop bouncing off a train. Good god.
  16. Your ultra realistic scenario depresses me
  17. I bet Hoffpauir gets called up ;) Or Walker moves to first and Neifi is requested to save us again.
  18. Where's the injury thread? This is the proverbial suicide thread.
  19. Comparing apples to oranges with the basketball comparison. Robert Horry just makes a lot of big shots.
