  1. Give me a break. Pitching has not been the problem with this team, its been offense. It has alwys been offense, last year the Cubs were near the top in HRs, SLG, and BA. And only in the middle of the pack in runs scored. Same in 2003 and 2004. The Cubs have the pitching to win, but not the offense. So are you saying the Cubs shouldn't try to upgrade? That is pretty assinine. Are you always this hostile? Its not some great leap to say that the Cubs' success this season is contingent on starting pitching being healthy.
  2. No doubt.
  3. I can live with that. Give Marshall the extra stick tomorrow with Barrett.

How's the replacements for Bozeman and Hollins?
  5. You all need some better competition. Play in big leagues with great, experienced players. Its a helluva lot more challenging, but its also a lot more fun.
  6. Who'da thunk that David Ortiz would get no hits with the Sawks putting up 14 runs?

Good. Hopefully we'll see those bastards in the national championship game next April. If they're returning their entire team, what makes you think you'd beat them next year?
  8. Why not do it on Sunday? I definitely won't be home in time, lousy work til 10... I trust you'd all be in good hands with Vance.
  9. All the proper authorities are mandated to give me constant updates of the game. (If the Cubs do win, I'm not sure if I can be home in time to put up a new game thread), any volunteers if I'm not home prior to 10:30?
  10. I must be crazy. I picked Shelton in the middle rounds, however, my reasoning behind it is a little more subtle: I was hoping and praying he'd gain catcher eligibility. If he were to get that, he'd be a potential third round pick. Also I'm playing in some deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep leagues, so I had to snag him earlier than some of y'all.
  11. Z opposes Chris Carpenter in what should be a great matchup. Obviously, in the end, the power of Z will be too much and The Cardinals will be praying for the big giant lard on Sunday to save them from being swept! GO CUBS!
  12. Shelton is my hero! Oh wait, the silly rules in some leagues mean i can't get him into my lineup.
  13. I'd like to say, I hate weekly changes. I've missed out on a lot of points for Chris Shelton and it irritates me that i couldn't get him in there while he was hot.
  14. THE DRUNKS BEHIND ME CAN'T SEE!
  15. Can't we make the FA period longer than immediately in those instances? for example, if you pick up a player, he cannot be active on your roster until 2 days down the road Pick up player x Sunday, the earliest he can be used is Wednesday.
  16. I work at Home Depot and probably will never shop there when I leave. Too much disorganization and confusion.
  17. No sense in giving the records since they haven't pitched yet. Lets get back to these winning ways. If there's one thing I love, its a good beatdown of the birds. GO CUBS! Yeah, the date was wrong :(

If the Knicks have the worst record in the league, we are assured of having a pick no worse than fourth. Btw, does anybody think with all these great tourney performances that Bargnani falls down to the Bulls' second pick?[-o<
  19. If Pierre puts up a .360+ OBP, I'd be more than satisfied.
  20. Wolfman, you gotta stick to one entry yo.
  21. Most people thought it was a bad deal when it was signed.
  22. Mark_R

I don't think that'll be much of a problem (gaining the 20 pounds).
  23. People would be beside themselves (at both ends of the spectrum) if Farns would return.

I'm glad Texas got eliminated early. Had they gone to the title game with Aldridge just dominating people, other teams would be strongly considering him more so than they are at number one (contingent on the Bulls not getting that pick). Now they have Thomas and Noah to mull over. I trust Pax to make the right move if they have number and have their choice from the great big men in this draft. Hey Derwood, how's Big Baby now? ;)
  25. That second portion is my train of thought. You open up Pandora's box if you allow for "injuries" to include minor ailments that keep a guy sidelined for a day, thus rendering the weekly lineup changes moot. Just thought I'd ask :D
