  1. The booing was definitely audible tonight. I didn't understand your comment about booing Pierre and Perez. Are you comparing vets to a young guy who was rushed through the system? Plus, offensively, Perez sucks and he has for a while, and Pierre now is sucking for the third straight year. I don't understand your comparison when you say fans shouldn't boo those two, either. My initial post with regards to booing was sarcasm. I'm a strong proponent of booing. Others aren't. Its simple.
  2. Look at that Pujols bum. Only a .500 OPS against Marshall. Easy win.
  3. The booing was definitely audible tonight.
  4. SMALL? It was a smidge over a half season. He produced that for 5 months in 2004 too - while coming back quicker than anticipated from an injury. And whether or not Corey has a similar avg/obp to Pierre, he'll be well ahead of Juan in the slugging department. And as Tim pointed out, all while being much cheaper than Juan and not costing the Cubs three solid young pitchers. Given the same coaches were here, what makes you think any adjustments would be made with him and he'd be performing like he is away from Chicago?
  5. Heh, I was pretty adamant in my disgust at the Wrigley crowd last season (along with Corey and the coaches). Lets not boo neifi either! He's HUSTLING on those grounders to second! Pierre, too.
  6. You are so wrong on this point alone, that it is not worth discussing this with you. Whoever you want to place the blame on for Corey's 05 output (Corey himself, Dusty, Sarge, Hendry, minor league coaches), there's no denying that his season in 05 was as bad as you'd see out of Neifi. He wasn't a "bum," but he wasn't much better than average either. (Edited a potential semantics nightmare)
  7. Ummm... Yeah, he's not on the ballot. Snafu. Point still stands.
  8. There's many good second basemen in the NL: -Utley -Soriano having a ridiculous year. I didn't want him, but his numbers would be awesome here. -Weeks -Kent (having a down year, but still pretty good) -Vidro Walker has no chance in this class.
  9. when clemens ends his career because of some petty injury, I will hope jimy comes back so i can laugh at him!
  10. WTG Wolfie! I'm tryin to stay on yo heels tho homes!
  11. Zambrano will be significantly better the rest of the season. I'm worried about Kent's injuries to be honest. I've got him on a few teams and his nagging injuries he's had at a few points this season make him a very unattractive trade option. I'd decline.
  12. Pardon my ignorance, but who are you quoting in your signature? You cannot be serious? How many IDIOTIC MANAGERS in baseball would say something like that?
  13. has two hr's tonight.
  14. My team is so crappy. I love the way it *LOOKS* but how they are performing is so frustrating.
  15. The only reason the Sox would want him is if they'd believe he'd be a major asset in their pen. They have five starters already, and another great young pitcher making nothing not able to get any starts.
  16. Sure, if you believe the rumors that all it takes is a mini winning streak to get Dusty and his band of idiot coaches extended, then its plausible and reasonable to root against them.
  17. Lose plz. Win means the illustrious announcement of multi year extensions for the whole coaching staff.
  18. I think he should serve it today. Imagine a lineup tomorrow of: Pierre- CF Womack- 2B Walker- 1B Jones- RF Neifi- 3B Bynum- LF Blanco- C Cedeno- SS Maddux I'd never put it past Dusty.
  19. I'd call it baiting before trolling.
  20. He really hasn't done anything to justify his spot in the pen. Then again, we have a boatload of players who are not justified to be on this team. You mean, besides being a decent reliever(with peripherals that suggest improvement) in 75 innings at the major league level last year and completely dominating AAA this year? He's had 4 outings this year for crying out loud, and only 2 of them were bad. The latter part of your statement is hardly a ringing endorsement. The point is that his two demotions were kneejerk reactions to poor outings. Every reliever has poor outings, and this year we've been sending the message that one bad performance gets your bags sent to Des Moines. Wuertz was a good middle reliever last year, and his strikeout rates and lack of contact made on him in general made him a good candidate to be even better this year. He's been great at Iowa, we should just let him pitch out of the pen instead of rotating him through with the likes of Novoa and Aardsma. He also needs to drastically improve his walk rate at the major league level.

  22. I think the best thing to happen for the Cubs franchise is to let the Pirates drop us to the cellar. The humiliation must continue for things to change. Masochistic? You betcha.
  23. This is the most slam dunk FANTASY pitching matchup I've seen since Johan Santana @ KC last month. Good god this oughta be bad.
  24. 600th.
