    Is this one of those times Dusty letss the pitcher hit and then still changes pitchers? I hate it when he does that.

    Not in a tie game, late. Dusty has to pinch hit for Marshall. I just stopped in and saw that on Sportsline and figured that had to be an error...no Cubs pitcher not named Maddux gets through 7 with less than 100 pitches

    we should be especially worried about them, those are the teams that the cubs really struggle against. I'm not worried about any of them particularlly...just that the Cubs need to do well over this next stretch.

    Also...not to reply to my own thread...but despite the poor pitching and offense, we haven't lost more than 2 games in a row all year...we need to keep that trend up if we want to have any chance.

    Are CRUCIAL as far as I'm concerned. If you look at the schedule starting today until the first Sox series, we've got some pretty favorable competition to play against (although a tough 9 game road trip). I think we have to go, at the very least 10-7 over those 17 games...if we do, we're then 6 games over .500 when the Pitching starts to come back and at that point we're over 4 weeks into Lee's 8 week injury (I won't let myself believe it will be 10). If we can go 12-5 it would be great...with our offense, and pitching, I'm not sure I can ask for more than that.

    I'd just like to point out that about this time last year when he sucked and the yanks were looking for almost anyone to take him (that or send him down) I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea for us to take a flyer on him...he would be nice to have right now. (In no way to I take credit for thinking he'd do this...have you seen his #s over the last year?) :shock:

    It appears to me as though they're waiting to see if they can get Pena. And if they can't...they just happen to be in Arizona on Wednesday...won't even have to pay for his flight to catch up with the team!

    Thank you. Next year lets send them our minor leaguers. Leave the players we really need alone. They need their spring training----in MARCH, not April when the games count. I just HOPE this is the problem....that would mean that the real Z will/should show up in the next 2 weeks or so.

    I HATE not getting the runner in from third with less than 2 out. We did that constantly last year...it cost us a lot of games...

    Neifi with the one pitch out we're accustomed to. Jones with 9 rbi so far this year...you know, he hasn't been good, but he's far from our biggest problem.

    I thought Barrett was supposed to be back available today. I understood Wednesday but if this lingers on any further I'm a little scared. Also...have we/will we ever see a Mabry at first Walker at 2nd lineup?

    I've got to echo this. Dusty has done a completely acceptable job so far this year. Ronny and Matt have played a lot and the other youngsters on the roster aren't exactly rotting. All things considered. Good job Dusty.

    I think I heard 185 or 186 Thanks The question I have about that is why can't it just show up on the display on my receiver which game is on that channel. It's kind of a pain to scroll through all those channels to find the one game you are looking for. I completely agree...just a full page of "Mlb play-by-play" isn't all that helpful.
