  1. Oh my god we scored. I think I'll always remember where I was when we scored.
  2. How bad is it that I feel our best possible outcome would be a scoreless tie that gets rained out in the 6th and we have to reschedule it for latter in the year when DLee is back.
  3. Yep, we passed on David Aardsma and Matt Murton. :D Jon Papelbon in the 4th round...baseball drafts are such crapshoots. Unfortunatly, the players we shoot are usually crap.

  5. I didn't get to watch the game last night...(Lucky me apparently)...but did stop by to find out that 2 of our top 3 hitters were not in the line up...considering we are mired in a slump of monumental proportions I figured that Ronny and Matt must surely have been injured in a car wreck....this thought was confirmed when Mabry was brought in to pinch hit with RISP late in the game...obviously that's a spot for Murton...and then when Bynum gets an atbat in the bottom of the 9th...Cedeno must have been severely hurt. Oh... wait... we have Dusty. nevermind.
  6. Our offense in a pitchers park. This should be fun.
  7. Yeah...before too long we're going to need to save that money and pay people to watch... This is not worth me losing any more sleep...have a good one guys.
  8. I disagree with you on Guzman. I think he's rusty, but his "patterns" are pretty normal for a pitcher who will be very good one day. He'll be unhittable one inning with GREAT stuff, but then lose control the next. Hill is AAAA pitcher. He has one major league pitch. You're probably right...but if I could get Cabrerra and/or Abreu in a deal that involved him...i'd do it in a hearbeat.
  9. I'm almost for sending Guzman and Hill back down...letting them tear up some bad AAA hitters and then trading them...obviously this MLB work isn't showcasing them...every pitch they throw their value drops...
  10. When Damion Easley has more offensive production than your entire team....for the entire series...you've got issues.
  11. A first pitch Jock didn't swing at...that's also hard to do.
  12. one pitch..one out That's impressive baseball
  13. 2 straight innings...man on second, nobody out...no scoring. Hell...if we just had pierre up twice in a row he could have grounded to second twice and got the run in.
  14. You act as if being denied the ability to watch this train wreck is a bad thing. I almost want to thank EI for taking the pain away....
  15. Not to throw logic into the mix...but could Dusty have Blanco in there to maybe help the rookie in his first start this year? He's obviously the best defensive catcher of the two...(of course that doesn't explain the Bynum start)...
  16. maybe so...but by that time contention will be a long distance call even with Sprint's nationwide calling plan.
  17. Like I said last night. Neifi struck out to allow Maddux to walk in a run. He was just trying to save us again, by NOT GIDP. My favorite part was him knowing...that despite the pitcher walking the two previous batters to load the bases...that it was in the teams best interest for him to swing away at anything close...you don't get that kind of skill with a youngster.
  18. What would you have him do? Since he's a LH hitter, he's not much of a platoon candidate with Jones. Do you want him on the bench? Personally I'd rather the Cubs give more bench spots to minimum wage kids who at least have a chance of producing than guys making 2, 3 or 4 times that much that are almost a lock not to produce. At this time though, I don't see much need for Nic. Although if they need somebody on the 60-day DL when Miller comes off, he might do the trick. And yes, he is off to a nice year with his FSL and SL stats combined. Honestly I don't care where we play him at this point...he could possibly play first if it keeps Nefailure out of the lineup...and even though he's a lefty he has to hit them better than Jones.
  19. Why not give this kid a try? He's doing well in AA...he can't be worse than what we've got on the field right now...youth is the only thing that is performing for us this year. I like the idea better than Conine or Millar...
  20. From ChicagoSports.com: The Cubs came into Wednesday's game leading the National League with a .292 average with runners in scoring position. I'd guess this is only because we've had so few runners in scoring position that Murton's hits bring our average up.
  21. Well...after last nights game, no one called....looks like there is still no offense. Here's my new lineup Cedeno Walker Murton Hairson Barrett Ramirez Zambrano Neifi Pierre The First 5 have a chance at scoring...Ramirez will either go deep or get out...Zambrano hits better than the last two, but neither he nor ARam are OBP machines so Neifi will have less of a chance to GIDP...Pierre at the bottom...if he happens to get that groundball to the 2nd basemen into the outfield, or if there is an error, he's on in front of the people who can actually hit.
