  1. Valverde has lost 4 games, so it's not like he's unhittable. But I'm sure we'll make him look that way.
  2. Yup, exactly. The Cubs are fighting for a playoff spot and getting screwed with a ridiculous strike zone, but the new Lou just sits there and takes it. Why does even a known fiery manager become a teddy bear when he puts on Cubbie blue? Not saying he should blow up all the time, but Lou's never done this in his entire career. Why? Older and mellower? I thought old people were supposed to be cranky.
  3. Agony. Absolute agony watching him pitch.
  4. Yup, exactly. The Cubs are fighting for a playoff spot and getting screwed with a ridiculous strike zone, but the new Lou just sits there and takes it. Disappointing. You ever think that the Braves got those calls because Bobby Cox was such a redass and got ejected all the time? I do.
  5. Unless you're pitching against Jacque Jones.
  6. Can't come up with a better nickname than that? Uh no... when he starts pitching better consistantly, I'll start working on a better nick. I can't think of a better nickname for someone that walks a guy after being ahead 0-2.
  7. He missed the pitch he should have crushed. It was close enough with two strikes that you don't watch it go by. That pitch wasnt even close, noway you can fault him for taking it. This strike zone is BS and how Lou can sit on his ass and not say something about it is beyond me. If this ump called every game, we'd be back to the dead ball era. He has a huge zone from inside to outside. Exactly, there is nothing that can be done with that pitch, its bs. Lou just sitting there is a joke too though He must have forgotten the effect a manager getting visibly upset with the umpires has on his players.
  8. This looks like the kind of guy that can't figure out a consistent strike zone. http://mlb.mlb.com/pressbox/images/umpires_07/2357.jpg
  9. Aw shucks, we don't want to win this too early. What fun would that be? Even if the Cubs do make the playoffs, they won't go on to shock the world. They're going to get rolled like they did in '98.
  10. This offense is an absolute joke.
  11. Well, at least he made a good effort at that pitch.
  12. I'll go for a HR. With Craig Monroe on deck against a righty, I will definitely go with a HR Crap. Forgot about that. Good point.
  13. There's no rally like the fake rally.
  14. Ok Ramirez. Just need base hits. Don't try to hit a home run.
  15. Eyre has pitched very very well for quite some time now. As long as you let him face just one hitter. He's a lot like Michael Worst that way.
  16. Yeah, if this is what he "owes" to the team, I don't want any more of it next year
  17. Could've had a 2.5 game lead though. These numerous missed opportunities will bite them in the ass eventually.
  18. Yeah, well I guess we won't have to worry about Wood taking up a roster spot next year.
  19. Z would have been better than Floyd also. At least he can hit righthanded. That's so pathetic that two of our pitchers are better hitters against lefties than the crap that's sitting on our bench.
  20. its just mind rotting bad so is the food, so its appropriate. the pepsi commercials are worse. "Aww yeah G, I just gots me an idea from dis ball thingy."
  21. I'm surprised that they didn't let Marquis PH. That would have been better than seeing Floyd's tired, old ass out there.
