    They just said on SportsCenter that Zambrano will miss his next start. Not really a surprise, but it was confirmed so I wanted to pass it along.

    The Cubs played a little sloppy last night, they didn't deserve to win. However, if I had to blame one person it would be Reed. He had his head up his own ass three times 1) trying to stretch the single (worked) 3) stealing third (didn't work) 4) bunting on that turf (didn't work). There's a reason why Tampa has the fewest sac bunts in baseball and it ain't b/c they're managed by an Earl Weaver clone with a lot of big hitters. I don't understand why you're complaining about him stretching that single into a double considering that it worked, but whatever. As for the bunt in the 9th, it was a great idea. If Longoria doesn't make a perfect play on that ball, the game would've been tied. Unfortunately, he did make a perfect play. Nothing wrong with dropping down a bunt there.

    I don't like Micah Hoffpauir. I really don't like the stupid faces he makes either. Tough way to end the game. If Longoria doesn't make the perfect play that he made, we'd be all tied up.

    Along with almost everyone else in the line-up tonight, right? Theriot, Lee, DeRo, Johnson... none of them have looked bad tonight. Murton has been awful. Nice play Riot!

    He's been doing things right all season. You should pay closer attention. He's been doing almost everything except getting on base wrong this year. ...which is far more important than anything else. Dude's hitting .310 with an OBP that's been around .400 for the last two months, and people still want to bitch. Unreal.

    It's ridiculous how good Dempster has been this year. 8th best ERA in baseball. 6th best WHIP in baseball. Very good with the bat as well. He should be an All Star, no question.

    Kenny Lofton, career .300 hitter and .370 OBP guy. Yes he's old, but he hasn't really gotten any worse over the last few years. He's currently unemployed, so he'll come cheaply. When Soriano returns, get rid of the more unproductive of Lofton/Edmonds. Seems like a pretty simple solution to me. there's a reason he's unemployed. What reason would that be?

    did they say if he is playing LF or 2B? Sure didn't. That's a good question though, as both Patterson and DeRosa are in the lineup.

    Was Patterson called up? I hadn't heard. The hoffpauir thread in transactions said ESPN1000 was reporting epatt up as well. You're right, I was just coming back here to post that I just read he is, in fact, up and leading off today.
