    Yeah, that was a pretty poor at bat by Fontenot. It sure will be nice when Soriano returns and we don't have to watch Fontenot stink up the place all game.

    I love how people bitch about Fontenot looking at pitches in his first at bat, then bitch about him swinging at the first pitch in his second at bat.

    His bat is only 20 points better than our pitcher Ted Lilly's oh well good thing he only plays when people are resting. Hopefully he is gone soon. Who to you suggest replaces him as the 25th man?

    I got a little worried that we'd see Cedeno in the lineup after reading that Kosuke was out.

    I also think Murton just missed hitting a home run by a a fraction of a few inches of bat meeting ball. This can be said about hundreds of at bats over the course of a season and is an utterly meaningless statement. I was pretty much thinking the same thing. I never like to see a hot hitter removed from the game for a guy that's a backup outfielder, at best. I wasn't pleased with Murton over Edmonds at all. And then Blanco at the end? Everyone knew how that was going to end. I haven't been too critical of Lou this year, but he managed the game pretty poorly last night.

    he'll be booed because he's on the Cubs now plus he said some negative things when they traded him I remember when John Mabry first returned... he got a standing O. John Mabry. Edmonds will be cheered pretty loudly.

    What do you suggest? Letting a fifteen year veteran who has hit 3 homers in the last 3 games bat. I don't care if the pitcher is a lefty. A 15 year veteran with atrocious lefty splits this season against a guy who destroys left handed hitters. The 15 year veteran just homered off a lefty on Saturday. Murton sucks, especially as a pinch hitter. It was a stupid decision with a very predictable result. It really wasn't. But keep thinking that if you repeat it it'll make it true. Edmonds sucks against lefties, lefties suck against Sherrill. Oh and the predictable outcome of any AB is an out. At least Murton had a good AB and gave himself a good shot at getting on base or scoring a couple runs on a base hit by working it 3-2. Geovany Soto, nice throw. And he popped out weakly in the end, so working the count really means nothing. Edmonds has been hot lately. Homered tonight, homered two games ago off of a lefty. Murton sucks off the bench. And in general. No brainer to me.

    What would you have done? Edmonds would have gotten eaten alive I'll take a hot Edmonds over a not good Murton everyday of the week.
